You are an intriguing guy. You are a lawyer who wants to put other lawyers out of work. You are trying to automate legal work, using AI technologies, to make lawyering less expensive and less labor intensive. A good deal of this has already occurred in the field of law but I imagine that there are a host of possibilities moving forward that could be even more revolutionary than we have already seen. This is a long way of saying that you have an appealing vision for your personal future and you would be riding a wave of change that has already started. You have the stats, from the 4.0 from the National Law University in Delhi, and a 329 GRE, which is 12 points higher than Duke’s latest class average of 317. As a male from India, you fall outside the overpopulated pool of male, Indian IT people. You worked at a top law firm and you have now done a startup. If you have raised your pre-seed funding from any well-known angels that would help your case considerably because it would lend greater legitimacy to your entrepreneurial ambitions. A lot of this will be dependent on your interview because admissions will need to assess how serious and potentially successful your startup is. Anyone can say they’ve done a startup so proving that it has been successful in some way is very important to getting a ‘yes’ from a top-tier business school. I like you. I like what you’ve done. And I like what you want to do post-MBA. I think Duke will, too, as long as you come across as a thoughtful, serious entrepreneur in that interview.
