Hi Mr. London Artist, This is Donna Bauman with Stratus Admissions and I am impressed with your profile. Your accomplishments in a top CPG company, as well as your global experience and even your passion for the arts all stand out. There are a lot of places I see the habit of leadership that HBS looks for—I see it in your mentoring a struggling colleague, in your P&L ownership at work, in your start-up experience and also in your advancement of the arts. I’d like you to clarify what “meaningful difference” means when you talk about your post MBA goals in entrepreneurship are—so that your story can come alive more in the “what more” you share in your HBS essay. I think someone like you has a very strong shot at a place like HBS if indeed you share your authentic story in your application. Don’t just rehash your resume, give some insight to why you made the choices you did and what you learned from them. I’m interested in knowing more about how you first became interested in start-ups as a teenager. What is that you “do differently” to get results? What did you learn from taking a company from 0 to $4M in 2 years? Where did your passion from the arts come from? How have you supported London artists? If you can share more of these things to help adcom understand what drives you, I think you could have a very compelling application on your hands.
