Hi Mr. Low GPA Urban Farmer, I’m fascinated by your hydroponics community farm! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I think your profile is a strong fit for Fuqua, which values candidates with diverse interests (eg. audio collection, trivia national competitions). That said, I agree with Susan that your low GPA and GMAT score is a concern. If you’re not able to boost your GMAT score, you may want to consider taking some external Quant courses to show AdCom your Quant chops, and get MBA-ready. Further, as you put together your apps, be sure to explain why you’re interested in pivoting into consulting. How will consulting help you achieve your long-term goals. Importantly, how will a Fuqua MBA help you get to your long-term dreams? …

Importantly, how will a Fuqua MBA help you get to your long-term dreams? What specific skillset / knowledge are you seeking to gain at Fuqua to reach this vision? Overall, aim to weave in your personal and professional stories in a compelling narrative – it would help AdCom better understand your goals and motivation, and help your application stand out from the crowd. Mr. Low GPA Urban Farmer – Thanks for posting your profile! Susan here from Stratus. I spent ~10 years reviewing applications at Duke Fuqua – about half of it specifically focused on Indian applicants.
While your background seems very interesting and you clearly have achieved some wins through work, the combination of a sub 3.0 GPA and a sub 700 GMAT put you at a significant disadvantage in the very competitive Indian subpool at Fuqua. You need to get your GMAT up to 730+ to get some looks.

Also, take the time to really think about the impact that you want to make. TONS of Indian candidates list their short-term goal as consulting. Give it some more thought. Perhaps your goals could align more closely with the professional experiences you have to date and your personal interests (urban gardening)?
Your changes are better at Tepper, Goizueta and Scheller. If consulting is your goal, you may want to look at University of Minnesota.
Wishing you all the best!
