    I don’t think Columbia gets many oil and gas folks in its MBA classes so I think that bodes well for your ability to add diversity to the class. I also think the school will find your career progression, starting out at a ulility and then moving to oil and gas and finally to i-banking in the field, attractive. You know the red flags here, however: A lowish GPA and a below-class average GMAT score. I don’t think those things should hold you back given your work experience and success at both a Fortune 500 and a startup.
