I have a low undergraduate GPA (2.5/4). This was largely due to the rigid Indian education system that makes it very hard for you to do well academically in college while playing serious sport (played Water Polo for the state and country all through the 4 years of my Electrical Engineering).

You certainly have a good reason for your lower GPA but to get away with it (against similar candidates who will have far better undergraduate transcripts from even more highly selective colleges) you need to explain the demands of your sport on your time and the fact that you were also investing in your future as a professional athlete and not merely playing for the fun of it. Your GMAT score of 710 is solid, though it does not offset your low GPA and will be considered somewhat low given the cohort you are in: Indian males with engineering degrees.
