Hi Mr. Tech Law, Having a business background would certainly complement your IT background as a future CIO! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I like that you come from a non-traditional background. That said, this also makes it a less straightforward application. One concern is your academic track record. As Susan noted, your GRE and GPA are below the averages at Wharton. I think a strong GRE could offset your soft GPA, so do aim for +325. Another area top schools like Wharton evaluates is your leadership skills. They want to see demonstrated leadership during college, at work, and outside work (within your community). My estimate of your odds are based on your current GRE but if you increase your GRE score, your chances will also improve. Mr. Tech Law – Thanks for posting your profile. Susan Cera here from Stratus.
The information you provided leaves me looking for more. Right now your stats are well below the Wharton averages. You should definitely retake the GRE and look to get >325 to be above their average. You might also consider taking a math course in which you could get a transcript to demonstrate that you are a different student now than you were at FSU.
Since you are looking to continue in IT, you might consider looking at PT programs that would simply accelerate your career rather than taking two years out to attend school.
Wishing you all the best!
