I took the GMAT Online last week and got a 750 but was consistently getting 770’s in practice tests. My EC’s aren’t spectacular but I’m going to be working on them the next year I have left in college. I have two questions for the community: 1. Does it make sense to take the GMAT again? I don’t want to sound ungrateful but I think I could do better (like a 770 on a good day). 2. Do my post-career goals sound reasonable and effective? I don’t have a philanthropic/social impact angle and worry that might not do well.

Hi Mr. Top Firm Intern! This is Kate Richardson, Senior Admissions Consultant. Since you are presumably several years away from applying, it’s tough to accurately assess your odds but I’ll put them around 25% because Harvard is super selective, yet you seem to have the foundations of a strong application with your high GPA, tech internship and student leadership. Keep that up! If you were practicing higher and felt like you left points on the table, definitely take the GMAT again! Schools will take your highest score and although a 750 is already quite high, a 770 could make a meaningful difference. Over time, I would want you to add more specificity to your career goals — why consulting? What kind? What skills do you …

What kind of problems/solutions do you want to work on long-term in tech? There is no need for your goals to have a social impact angle. Hope that helps and good luck!
