I am a huge traveler who has experienced far too much wanderlust to allow myself to remain comfortable with not achieving my professional goals. I am a New York-based analyst who has worked for top banks and moved into a hedge fund support role. I know I’m capable of putting in the work to reach my goals of completing my MBA to earn a front-office role. I will be starting another role at an NYC-based hedge fund in a trade support capacity for another year before expected matriculation.

Mr. Wannabe Grad – thanks for posting your profile. Susan here from Stratus.
I like the energy you show and your commitment to your goal of being in the front office. In your applications, you will need to explain your job transitions and why you took each step. Three roles in four years feels a bit jumpy but if you consciously made these moves to develop new skills or knowledge (rather for just a higher paycheck) your story will come together.
Your GMAT is below the average at CBS so I encourage you to retake. What you listed in terms of extracurriculars feels light but there may be more that I’m not seeing. Look to get more engaged either at work or in your broader community in …
Your GMAT is below the average at CBS so I encourage you to retake. What you listed in terms of extracurriculars feels light but there may be more that I’m not seeing. Look to get more engaged either at work or in your broader community in ways that will allow you to develop your leadership skills. Business schools DEVELOP leaders, they don’t create them so you need to have demonstrated some leadership to land a seat.
I recognize that you want to remain in NYC. You might also take a look at Cornell. Their IB immersion does a great job grooming and placing into IB roles.
Wishing you all the best!
