Well, from the looks of things, you and your husband make quite the power couple. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the two of you are both admitted to Wharton and get to take this MBA journey together. It would be quite an adventure. Your have the stats and the credentials for a successful outcome at Wharton, and you also improved your chances by leaving your engineering job for biz dev in healthcare. Your extras tell me you would be a compelling and fascinating classmate as well. Wharton is the perfect place for your pivot to i-banking, though, Columbia would be an excellent choice as well, even though it is not among your target schools. Your extras tell me you would be a compelling and fascinating classmate as well. Wharton is the perfect place for your pivot to i-banking, though, Columbia would be an excellent choice as well, even though it is not among your target schools. I can’t imagine that you won’t get an interview at Wharton and then, if you do well, an admit. The only question is whether you and your husband can count on a dual admit to one school. Plenty of other couples are able to do this but as you might guess the odds get tougher which leads me to suggest that if you had to (and I hope you don’t) going to school in Philly and NYC is just a quick train ride away. That is a reason why I would put CBS in the mix for both you and your husband. My fingers are crossed!
You have a unique profile. Combine that with your IIT pedigree and your 740 GMAT (18 points above Wharton’s average now) and I think your chances are good. One thing to note – you’ll have a strong case for 100% scholarship if you can increase your GMAT by 20 points (I know a lot of females at Wharton with IIT background and 760 GMAT receiving 100% scholarship). Good luck. You are going somewhere good.
