  • Great GPA and GMAT. Under-represented minority. Non-STEM major (not a good thing, but won't stop you from being admitted). HBS's regular MBA program (let alone the 2+2 program) does NOT like to see public service as a post-MBA goal. Reason being, you certainly don't need a *HARVARD* MBA to achieve this. You don't... and most definitely not from deferral programs. People with a goal like that is not who they look for. Given they clearly stated that they want STEM majors... you can't go on with a non-profit goal on your platter AND a business degree. Major ding. "You want Harvard, but does Harvard want you?".... This makes me a bit nervous to know your pre-MBA goal which I assume is "to gain more experience in leadership ...
