I really like your choice of target schools. Each one of them–Emory, Georgetown and UNC at Chapel Hill–offer world class MBA programs, have incredibly passionate staff and great faculty. Way too often, these schools are overlooked by many candidates and shouldn’t be. Your numbers–both GPA and GRE–shouldn’t be a major hurdle, even though they are slightly below the class averages. I do wonder if you have a compelling story to tell. If so, it could make a difference. It’s not a straight shot into a top MBA program from being a revenue manager in the hospitality industry. So I think a strong personal story will significantly help your cause.
