Struggled my first two years of undergrad – grade deflation at UC Berkeley + weeder classes. Was able to pick up my GPA my last two years but I am still worried it is too low, especially since I graduated with a humanities major. Working at a small investment firm as an analyst for acquisitions, development, and investments.

I admire that you are using your skills in finance for social impact. It will be important for you to share the WHY behind your interest in making an impact in the third world. Is there a specific area that is of personal interest to you? Education, healthcare, housing?
Last year I worked with a Berkeley alum whose GPA was below 3.0. He is now at Booth. It will not be impossible to overcome your softer undergrad performance. However, you need to SHOW admissions committee that you are a different student today than you were during college. Right now your GMAT isn’t helping you for Wharton, CBS or MIT Sloan since you are …
Last year I worked with a Berkeley alum whose GPA was below 3.0. He is now at Booth. It will not be impossible to overcome your softer undergrad performance. However, you need to SHOW admissions committee that you are a different student today than you were during college. Right now your GMAT isn’t helping you for Wharton, CBS or MIT Sloan since you are a solid 30 points below their program averages. I would suggest that you retake the GMAT and shoot for a 730+.
You don’t mention any extracurriculars. You would be well served to engage NOW in the space where you want to make an impact post-MBA. This would allow you to tie your story together.
