You would clearly bring some valuable work experience to class, from consulting and banking to an ecommerce startup. The numbers pretty much work for Wharton. Your two STEM degrees from universities in Australia and Singapore also make you an unusual candidate. My gut tells you your odds are somehwat better than the overall admit rate at Wharton. My prediction: You’ll be accepted at Booth and/or Kellogg and possibly Haas but turned down by Stanford and utlimately Wharton.

  • The MBA Exchange Odds Assessment: 40%

Hi there! It’s Stephanie Horn, Master Consultant with the MBA Exchange and recent Poets and Quants “Top 10 Admissions Consultants”. Ms. Product Manager, you have strong grades and test scores and the admissions committee will be impressed with your Master’s in Software Engineering. Your history of launching successful products will also be highly valued. I’m a little confused that you are currently both a product manager and a consultant. You’ll want to show a clear progression in your work history that shows your increasing responsibilities. Your global background will also make for strong essays — be sure you stress your ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds to make measurable improvements. You can improve your involvement in activities outside of work — …

Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission. It sounds like you’ve had a productive career in technology so far, having made meaningful impact on the products you’ve worked on. Your academic stats are in line with Wharton, but what this program (and the other schools) will be looking for is a wow factor. For example 1. what is the quality and impact of your outside involvement – it sounds like you were active in college and grad school, but are you involved in any extracurricular or personal pursuits these days? 2. How would your recommenders characterize your performance (leadership, impact, growth) vs. peers and 3. Fit: since you’re doing product management now, why do you need an MBA – what skills do you need …

Hi, it’s Lisa from Stratus Admissions. I like your stats and your background including a quant focused advanced degree. I too, would like some clarity on where you are and where you want to go. I know these short blurbs don’t give you a lot of room to expand but you will need to refine your st goal to give the committees a sense of why they should admit you and this will also to help you focus on the Why MBA question. As stated it is really vague, take some time to dig into what it is you want to do post degree and think about what may be the best path for you.

I love that you have coached others in your …
