Hi Ms. Product Strategist, I love that you’re installing solar panels and giving people access to electricity! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I think you have a lot of strengths in your profile – strong work experience (promotions, project responsibilities), interesting extra-curricular activities. Your academic track record is solid although I would love to see a higher GMAT score to make you more competitive for Kellogg. You asked about your profile gaps – I think if you can retake the GMAT to boost your score, it would strengthen your profile. If not, you can consider switching to the GRE. Some candidates find the GRE test format easier. As for other schools to consider, given your goal of Product Management in Tech, I agree with Melisa …

Some candidates find the GRE test format easier. As for other schools to consider, given your goal of Product Management in Tech, I agree with Melisa that Foster, Tepper and Cornell are very strong in this area. Also look into UT Austin. My estimate of your chances are based on a 700 GMAT score. But if you can bump up your score, your chances will also improve. Hi Ms. Product Strategist, Melisa here from Stratus Admissions. From one avid traveler to another – I canāt wait until we can travel freely again! Would love to hear where youāll travel first when travel becomes open again. Letās talk about what stands out in your profile first. The fact that youāve moved into product management already, means you are in a role that many people use an MBA to pivot into – so your perspective as a PM will be a welcomed addition to the class. It looks like you can also speak from the tech and business (PM) side – which again many come to an MBA to bridge. Your undergrad GPA looks solid and youāve got good work experience with a couple …
Your undergrad GPA looks solid and youāve got good work experience with a couple promotions that will help you show an upward trajectory. Your social impact expedition sounds very interesting and rewarding – do you have any other involvement through university or outside your role at work? You will want to show that you are a part of your larger community. Where I think you can spend your time before applications this fall is improving your GMAT score and getting more defined in your goals. Part of what you will need to answer for admission is what you are looking for in an MBA? You are talking about staying in PM and technology – so you will need to articulate how an MBA will benefit you. Are you looking for a change in location? Maybe better insight into PM across industries or companies? Opportunities to grow as a leader? Think about what skills you bring to the table and where you want to grow in an MBA. I would also suggest taking the GMAT again – or, if you are at the end of your MBA journey (already taken 3+ times) then add to your range of schools. Schools to consider might be UW Foster, Tepper CMU, Cornell Johnson (maybe even their Tech MBA). Best of luck!
