I admire the self-awareness you mention in your “surprise” at thriving in the corporate world. You are making a difference by encouraging self-expression in the workplace. Congratulations on your goal to influence change. B-school adcoms like to hear this along with a reasonable and thoughtful path towards getting to that position of influence. There are too few storytellers in this world and I can sense that you are one of them by the clarity of your submission here. You DO have a strong story to tell and I have no doubt that you will execute a near-perfect application by using your formidable skills. You are a nontraditional candidate in the best possible way because you will be competing against very few candidates who have similar backgrounds in any of the applicant pools to which you toss an application. NYU Stern should love you but so would Yale or UCLA. Given your post-MBA goal, I would really put a strong focus on Anderson and being in LA where you would immediately gain exposure to the world of entertainment.
