The Katz MBA: What You Need To Know

The Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business creates leaders who use business as a force for social good. Representing many different cultures, professional interests, and life experiences, Katz students are unified in their passion for achieving excellence in business. They offer a signature 18-month MBA geared towards students exploring their path, and a one-year accelerated MBA geared towards students who want a career accelerator, as well as a joint & dual degree MBA, and an MBA with Business Analytics.

Pittsburgh has a strong business community and plenty of post-MBA career opportunities, with major companies such as PNC Financial Services Group, UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), Allegheny Technologies, and Kraft Heinz. Other industries include renewable energy, cybersecurity, biotech, and robotics.

“The emphasis on experiential learning is what drew me to Katz, and I’ve sought out as many such classes as possible. Whether it’s hands-on coding, innovation, communication practice, or real-world consulting, Katz integrates experiential learning throughout its curriculum.” – Claire Howard (MBA ’24)
