The Gabelli School of Business MBA: What You Need To Know

Located in Midtown Manhattan, Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business offers a Jesuit business education in the epicenter of the financial capital of the world. Gabelli prepares each of its students to succeed in their pursuit of management and leadership experience. Launched in 1969, their 24-month full-time MBA program boasts unique features, notably the month-long bonding and orienting experience, the “Gabelli Launch,” at the start of the program.

Gabelli stands by promoting social justice, social entrepreneurship, and cultivating an open and inclusive environment that prioritizes its students while holding to its Jesuit roots. Gabelli also maintains a focus on ethics and sustainability which in today’s growing market is a necessity.

The program kicks off strategically with year one dedicated to a batch of core courses.  Second-year MBA students enter a mandatory convergence week where they will apply their knowledge and skills in a simulated business environment. They are faced with an assortment of challenges that force them to think critically, re-evaluate how they handle themselves, and apply what they know.

Prospective students can apply by submitting 3 required essays, 1 optional essay, optional GRE/GMAT exams,1 professional letter of recommendation and an admissions interview. Students can customize their degree through a variety of primary concentrations such as Accounting, Marketing, Finance, and secondary concentrations such as Healthcare Management, Blockchain, Entrepreneurship, and Global Sustainability. Internships are vital to the MBA experience, and the Office of Career Development works closely with students to help them find the best fit. Prospective students can apply to the program by submitting 3 required essays, 1 optional essay, optional GRE/GMAT exams,1 professional letter of recommendation and an admissions interview.

Being in the center of New York City offers students the ability to engage with a plethora of successful entrepreneurs and corporations.  Students have countless co-curricular experiential learning opportunities, and often engage in workshops, seminars, competitions, and conferences through departmental events as well as student-run organizations. Gabelli students tend to take advantage of the Fordham’s Social Innovation Collaboratory, the Center for Community Engaged Learning, the Blockchain for Humanity Initiative, the Center for Humanistic Management, The Center for Positive Marketing, and The Consortium for Trustworthy Organizations.
