The triple-accredited MBA program at the Sheffield University Management School’s mission is to use their world-class research base to develop knowledgeable and employable students, promote socially responsible work practices and have a positive impact on organizations and society throughout the world. Sheffield has everything a student could want from a major city — a good mix of city life, affordability, and green space — with the Peak District right at their doorstep.

Sheffield’s one-year MBA program averages about 40 incoming students each year during their annual intake each September. Their cohorts are intentionally small to maximize the potential of all studetns as part of the close-knit Sheffield community.

Their curriculum is centered around three core three pillars — consultancy, entrepreneurship and leadership, and the B-school is highly focused on career outcomes, teaching leaders who feel confident in the job market post-graduation.

Throughout all the core business courses and electives, students work in teams, and they learn self-awareness, career planning, goal setting, and strategic identification skills.

A highlight of the MBA is the Challenge Module, where students are partnered with local or international businesses, working together in teams or solo to tackle real and often complex business problems. The Challenge Modules is made up of 4 sections – the Marketing Consultancy Challenge, the New Venture Creation Challenge, the Internationalization Challenge, and the Individual MBA Challenge.

Sheffield offers two key immersive experiences, the first being the International Study Trip, where MBAs explore German and EU business with visits to Mannheim Business School and Frankfurt’s financial hub. The other is their London Career Safari, where MBAs spend a few immersive days in the city, hearing from a variety of guest speakers who offer industry insights and attending alumni networking opportunities.

Beyond the curriculum, Sheffield MBAs have access to the school’s cutting-edge trading room, in partnership with Lloyds, furnished with industry-standard software like Bloomberg and Refinitiv Eikon, commonly utilized by traders, banks, and multinational corporations for conducting research, trading financial securities, and accessing market insights.

“What I love about the Sheffield MBA is the soft skills you learn can be applied in absolutely everything you decide to do in your life. It allows me to polish my networking and negotiation skills, amongst other highly valuable skills. The quality of academics and support offered at the Sheffield University Management School is second to none. The staff here are always willing to give you a hand. For me, this is priceless,” says MBA Oluwaseun Adeyemi.
