The UC Riverside Anderson MBA: What You Need To Know

An hour outside of Los Angeles, the University of California Riverside’s A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management, or AGSM, is developing diverse leaders who are prepared to face the challenges prevalent in today’s world. The school’s STEM-designated program is ranked in the Top 100 MBA programs (U.S. News & World Report, 2023) and offers access to career opportunities across sunny California.

Riverside’s campus is no stranger to diversity – ranking #1 in social mobility the last three years (U.S. News & World Report, 2020, 2021, 2022). Women make up approximately half of the MBA class, while over 50% of the domestic students identify as a member of an underrepresented group, with international students bringing a global perspective from across the world.

Steeped in the values of integrity, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation, AGSM is a prime environment for well-rounded business education. The program requires full-time students to complete 20 courses, or 80 quarter units over 21 months. The school’s curriculum is designed to set students up for success and prepare them for the future. The courses Business Career Development and Fieldwork in Management (internship) both allow students to advance their practical skills and improve upon a business mindset. In addition to the internship course, students are expected to complete a capstone group case analysis or write an individual thesis.

In a candidate’s second year, they can choose from seven concentrations in desirable areas, including finance, information systems, and supply-chain and operations management.

With over 400 student organizations for prospective MBA students to explore, there is something for everyone at this campus. For working students, the school also offers the flexibility of a part-time program that can be completed in three to five years.

Graduates of the school are well off in the working world post-graduation, landing jobs from Silicon Valley to San Diego in companies such as Google, Tesla, Amazon, Disney, JPMorgan Chase, EY, Hulu, and PepsiCo.
