About the Program

The M.S. in Business Analytics program was established Spring 2014. It is designed to last 18 months. Students will take 11 courses to complete the degree. The Financial Engineer ranked the M.S. in Business Analytics program #1 amongst business analytics programs in the United States.

Program Format and Schedule

The Master of Science in Business Analytics degree requires 33 units, taken in 3 semesters (with the flexibility of extending to 4 semesters): Fall, Spring, Fall, including 19.5 units of required coursework plus 13.5 units of coursework chosen from a list of electives. The program may be completed on a full-time (3 or 4 courses per semester) or part-time basis. All students must take GSBA 545, DSO 510, GSBA 542, and DSO 545 in the first semester. Part-time domestic students need to plan your schedule with the Program Director. Students who have taken one or more of the required courses elsewhere may petition to replace these courses with electives and/or appropriately related courses offered by the Marshall School of Business or the Viterbi School of Engineering. Such a replacement must be approved by the Program Director prior to registration for the course.
