Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: The biggest accomplishment in my career thus far is establishing Corporate Social Responsibility in the North American Distribution business at Cummins. Over three years, I helped drive the creation of over 100 teams of employees who donated thousands of hours of volunteer time to benefit their communities. Not only was this an amazing growth experience for me as I learned to apply business skills to real life situations, but it also gave me personal satisfaction in knowing that the work I was doing was making a positive impact on the employees and the community.

Looking back on your experience, what one piece of advice would you give to future business school applicants? I would highly suggest that all prospective business school students spend time reflecting on what they want to get out of the experience and what will be most important to them once they’re in school. Once you understand that, making decisions about where to go to school, what classes to take, what clubs you want to join, etc. becomes much easier.

What was the key factor that led you to choose this program for your full-time MBA and why was it so important to you? The most significant reason I chose Emory was because of the program’s strong sense of community. Because of Emory’s small size, there is a lot of effort put forth from the students and the administration to get to know those in the community and to forge personal connections. I know this community will not only make my two years special but will provide me with lasting connections and a personalized educational experience.

What would success look like to you after your first year of business school? I came to business school because I want to continue to build my skillset-particularly on the analytics side. I would consider my first year a success if I feel confident working with data and applying concepts I learned in the classroom to the work I’m doing in my internship.
