Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: In my past four years of business development experience, I had the opportunity to work on many projects. Every time we won a large contract that my team and I spent long taxing hours on, it felt like an accomplishment. One of our largest win was a $1.1B contract, which was the highlight of my business development career. Nonetheless, I feel that my biggest accomplishment has yet to come.

Looking back on your experience, what advice would you give to future business school applicants? One piece of advice I would like to give to my fellow applicants is to never give up. No matter how hard it is to get through the GMAT or work on your applications while being employed full time and having a family, your hard work will pay off if you keep pushing yourself.

Another recommendation I have is that you should start your dialogues with the school you are interested in and their current students as soon as possible. A lot of the times, applicants get so focused on obtaining a high GMAT score or writing a brilliant essay for the application that they forget to connect with the people in the organization. These individuals will provide you with a better perspective and allow you to gauge if this school is really a good fit for you. Building a rapport with the admission staff and current students early enough can be very beneficial in the long run. It takes time and effort, but it is worth it.

What led you to choose this program for your full-time MBA? When researching business schools, I was looking for a strong program that provided me an excellent education, a large alumni network, and a sense of being part of a community. Michigan State University meets every single requirement. The professors at the school are outstanding and genuinely care to do everything they can to help their students succeed.  As a large institution, MSU provides its students access to all its resources, but at the same time, the small MBA class size allows students to feel part of the MSU family.

Tell us about your dream job or dream employer at this point in your life? As joining MSU to obtain my MBA degree will open many doors, I am excited to find new challenges and opportunities in the upcoming years. I would love to work in space where I can accelerate as an individual, but also impact the lives of others in a positive manner.  Currently, I am still exploring my options in different industries and looking to find the right fit.

What would you like your business school peers to say about you after you graduate from this program? I want my peers to remember me as someone who is easy to talk to, goes out of her way to help others, is hard-working, and spreads positive energy.
