How would you describe your role to your mother? As part of the Insights team for Modern Work solutions, I rely on data analysis to understand our customer journey and provide insights that will support the business to move forward in the right direction. In other words, I look at a bunch of sales data to understand our customers and what can be done to make them happier…It is pretty fun, Mom!

A fun fact about me people would be surprised to know is…My first daughter was born during my MBA, precisely one week before the finals. That was an intense week, but now if you have any questions about competitive strategy or how to change a diaper in the middle of the night, I can help you.

What was your greatest personal or professional accomplishment? It is being the first in my family to go to university and later on graduate in an international business school was one of my most outstanding personal achievements. However, it was only possible because of the fantastic family that I have and all the support and sacrifice they did for me during my life, for which I will be eternally grateful.

Why did you choose to work at MSFT? I love to know that my job positively impacts the lives of others. Microsoft is one of few companies in the world where you can not only see this impact in the lives of millions, but also contribute to shaping the future of the whole industry. I am very proud of the solutions we provide and excited to see innovation showing up in so many different areas, which offers countless opportunities to learn and grow. However, it could not be possible without great people and a great culture. This inclusive, collaborative, and supportive environment was decisive to me joining the company.

What did you love about the business school you attended? First of all, it was the people! I had the opportunity to work with amazing and diverse people and learn from each of them and their cultures. I really became part of a global family, and I made friends for life. Also, I loved to participate in consulting classes where I could develop projects for real companies and connect with senior leaders in the industry. Finally, the long and renowned STEM tradition of Purdue University is the core of the MBA program and provides strong analytical problem-solving skills.

What does being a “Microsoftie” mean to you? The company’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. Being a “Microsoftie” is about embracing this mission and work to create relationships and partnerships that will be mutually beneficial. It is about not being afraid to fail, and always willing to learn.

Which manager or peer has had the biggest impact on you at MSFT and how has he or she made you a better in your role?  There are so many incredible people at Microsoft, but for sure Christine Bell is outstanding. She was my manager during my internship. When I came back to Microsoft after my MBA graduation, she became my manager again in a different team. She has such great energy and passion for the business that it is contagious, and she really cares about her team. Every conversation that we had was not only about the work, but also an opportunity to learn and discuss my career development —a truly inspirational leader.

What has Covid-19 taught you about yourself since you started working at MSFT? “It can be done!” Although all the challenges that everybody is facing during this pandemic, I have seen at Microsoft that teamwork really makes the difference to succeed. Also, I learned more than ever how important it is to balance professional and personal life to keep yourself healthy and so be able to give your best as a person. I am glad to be in a company that understands that, respects me, and supports my well-being.
