What is the biggest appeal of earning an MBA in China? I have always desired to be at the center of things. Today, China has become the center of the business of fashion and the place where many of the retail and digital innovations emerge. Doing an MBA in China allows me to stay connected to the center of the incredible Chinese ecosystem.

What quality best describes your MBA classmates and why? Diversity. We come from incredibly different backgrounds, culturally and professionally. We all understand the incredible moment in time the current era represents for China and we all aspire to take part in it.

Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of the MBA curriculum or activities that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you?  The main reason for me to choose CEIBS was its location. Just like New York or Paris in the past, Shanghai is the new center of the world, where new trends are born and the most influential decisions are made. More than most academic degrees, an MBA may be most rooted in the reality and practicality of the world community, business trends, and economic shifts. It is for this reason that I think CEIBS’ location is a massive advantage. Additionally, the CEIBS MBA offers a strong set of courses focused on Chinese retail and digital ecosystems, with topics such as “Strategizing in Digital China”, “Rethinking Strategy for the Digital World”, and “China Within the World”, just to mention a few. This is extremely relevant when it comes to retail, as today China is setting the new rules when it comes to the future of retail and best practices.

What other MBA programs did you apply to? I considered a couple others, but I only applied to CEIBS.

What do you see yourself doing ten years from now? I hope to be at the center of the business of fashion, leveraging my understanding of China, regardless of where in the world I may be by then.
