Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of the school’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? Coming from the nonprofit sector, the “Business as a force for good” mentality really resonated with me. As future business leaders, I think it is critical that MBAs understand their position in society and the responsibility that comes with that. While this was what initially drew me to the school, it is so much more than just a slogan. From in-class discussions to student clubs like Carlson 4 Community, this mentality is something that students and faculty live every day.

At Carlson, you are part of one of the most dynamic business environments in the country. What has made the Twin Cities such a great place to live and learn for you? The Twin Cities has such an amazing sense of community. We’ve faced a lot of challenges over the past year, from the impacts of COVID-19 to the murder of George Floyd. Throughout it all, people have come together and I feel very proud to be a part of this community.

What quality best describes your MBA classmates you’ve met so far and why? Supportive. Despite all the challenges of the last year, my classmates have been incredible at helping each other through it all. So many people have gone out of their way to help out classmates through difficult times or circumstances. It has been amazing to see people make the best of the virtual environment and build a strong community within our class.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: As the first Director of Development and Marketing at Mission Animal Hospital, I had the opportunity to build the fundraising program from the ground up. In my first year, the development team was approved for our first-ever grant.  It was the best feeling to have a national organization recognize the value of the work and invest in our programs!

Describe your biggest accomplishment as an MBA student so far? It has to be landing my dream internship! I am so excited to join Boston Consulting Group as a consultant this summer and really can’t wait to get started!
