What word best describes the Tuck MBA students and alumni you’ve met so far and why? Purposeful. The Tuck MBA students and alumni that I have interacted with have been intentional and present in conversations, Zoom calls, classes, and hangouts. You don’t come here by accident.

Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of Dartmouth Tuck’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? I chose Tuck because of its commitment to developing leaders of the future, and its access to professors and administrators that I didn’t find at other institutions.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at Dartmouth Tuck? I’m excited to be an advocate for The Consortium and the Tuck Veterans Club. These are two communities that I am very passionate about (they helped get to Tuck) and I look forward to giving back to these communities even after I leave Tuck.

What excites you the most about coming to live in Hanover? What is the one activity you can’t wait to do? Road Cycling—I’m out on my bike at least two times a week exploring the Upper Valley.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Being selected for and serving amongst the best soldiers and leaders in one of the most-deployed units in the War on Terror—the 75th Ranger Regiment.

How did COVID-19 change your perspective on your career and your life in general? COVID-19 and the subsequent focus on social justice changed my calculus on the autonomy, flexibility, and level of influence I wanted to have for my life and the future.

What led you to pursue an MBA at this point and what do you hope to do after graduation? After serving 10-plus years in the military, I wanted to refine the leadership and communication skills I had developed. At the same time I want to further develop the hard skills that will make me a contributor in the private sector and beyond. What I didn’t realize was that the emphasis on self-reflection that Tuck provides would lead me to find so many more areas to refine. I am hoping to pursue opportunities in financial services upon completing my MBA.

What other MBA programs did you apply to? Wharton, Darden, Texas McCombs, Ross, Yale SOM, UNC Kenan-Flagler

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into Dartmouth Tuck’s MBA program? Think of each portion of the application as a chapter in a novel, and each chapter is an opportunity to tell your story: GMAT/GRE, Application, Letters of Recommendation, and Essays.
