Which pillar resonates most with you and why? ‘Share Success’ was something that really caught my eye since I first researched about Anderson. For me, this is a way of life. It gives me a tremendous feeling of satisfaction to know that my hard work pays off not only to my personal success but also benefits others and supports them with maximizing their potential. Not surprisingly, you meet a lot of people along the way who share this philosophy too, helping you climb to new heights, creating an endless chain of support to all.

What makes Los Angeles such a great place to earn an MBA? First, there is the professional aspect – this is an amazing place for the tech, healthcare, entertainment & sports industries and of course, innovation. The network is extremely large, diverse, and nearby. Plus, it’s always good to be an hour’s flight away from the Bay Area. Second, nothing can beat LA as a place to live for a young adult – the food, the culture, the nightlife and of course, the very warm weather. I couldn’t ask for a better environment to do my MBA in.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of UCLA Anderson’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? I think this is the place to give a big shoutout to the Parker Career Management Center. As one of the best career centers among MBA programs in the country (if not the best), this was a critical component in my decision to choose Anderson. While the MBA gives you an incredible opportunity to learn more and develop more skills, finding an internship and full-time placement (that is also right for you) after the MBA are equally important aspects of the MBA experience. The team’s dedication to help students at Anderson succeed in their career path is remarkable. You get the feeling they want your success as much as you do! (if not even more sometimes).

What course, club or activity excites you the most at UCLA Anderson? I am actually very excited to try and open a brand-new club! LA has so much to offer in the music and concerts scene so it will be a great time to form a club that will allow all Anderson students to go to music events together, share their love for music, or just trying new experiences they didn’t have before. I hope COVID will not stand in the way!

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: Without a doubt, it was taking an active part in the fight against COVID-19 during my time at GE Healthcare. I was part of a team that developed smart AI-driven Ultrasound devices (Venue, Venue Go, Venue Fit) that help diagnose COVID-19 severity through lung scans. Seeing our devices in the emergency rooms in Wuhan at the beginning of this pandemic made me proud and showed me how meaningful the workplace you work in is.

How did COVID-19 change your perspective on your career and your life in general? COVID-19’s impact on the workplace was a global challenge. It forced organizations to think outside the box, leave previous methods behind, and adapt to a world of flexibility. I think flexibility in the workplace is here to stay. I believe a workplace that adopts flexibility will have better results and I definitely see myself as part of an organization of that kind.

What led you to pursue an MBA at this point and what do you hope to do after graduation? I was at a stage in my career where I felt that I have a lot to give but also a lot to learn. After some research, I realized that an MBA is the perfect framework for me to do just that. Having this tremendous growth process also turns you into a better professional, ready and motivated to tackle tomorrow’s global challenges. I hope to continue my career in the tech/medical devices spheres as a product manager, developing products that will benefit all people.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into UCLA Anderson’s MBA program? I would recommend first to check with yourself how the Anderson values are aligned with yours. If you feel like it’s a match, try to show it throughout your application. Also, don’t be nervous! The admissions staff and the Anderson community want your success as much as you do, so don’t overthink it when writing or interviewing – just show who you are.
