What makes London such a great place to earn an MBA degree? Whether you’re interested in finance, technology, entrepreneurship, or anything else, London has it all and there will be so many opportunities to engage with smart, interesting people outside the MBA programme.

London Business School is one of the most culturally and professionally diverse MBA programs in the world. How do you see these global perspectives enhancing the value of your business education over the next two years?  During my time living abroad in Southeast Asia, I came to fully realize the value of diverse ideas and perspectives for solving major social and environmental problems. Issues like climate change, public health, and the future of work are global in scope and require a global outlook in order to develop innovative solutions.

Aside from your classmates and location, what was the key part of London Business School’s MBA programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? I was really attracted by the level of flexibility and customization that is possible with the LBS program. The huge selection of electives allows you to explore and double down on your passions, while still having plenty of time for side hustles like internships or starting a company.

What course, club or activity excites you the most at London Business School? I’m most excited for the Entrepreneurship Club and the opportunity to learn from, and collaborate with, other aspiring entrepreneurs from LBS and across London.

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: I spent eight months designing and testing an agricultural drone service for smallholder paddy farmers in Myanmar to help them better detect and treat pest, disease and soil problems. This type of service was the first of its kind in a developing country.

How did COVID-19 change your perspective on your career and your life in general? Though the pandemic has been a difficult time for nearly everyone, it provided time and space for me to reflect on my career and my path forward. If not for the pandemic, I likely would not have decided to pursue an MBA.

What led you to pursue an MBA at this point and what do you hope to do after graduation? I’m hoping to start an impact-focused tech startup or join an early-stage company after graduation. After discussing with many friends and former colleagues about their business school experiences, I realized the full extent of the value that entrepreneurs can get from an MBA in terms of the network, the classroom learning, and the opportunity to test and iterate on different ideas.
