P&Q’s Must Reads: Best 40-Under-40 Business School Professors Of 2022

Hello everyone  –- Welcome back to Poets&Quants’ Must Reads, a quick, digestible recap of the top business school news, sponsored by CentreCourt, P&Q’s virtual admission events.

I’m your host, Kristy Bleizeffer, and I’ll be highlighting the most important P&Q stories you might have missed – but shouldn’t.

So, Let’s get to it.

No. 1: Best 40-Under-40 Business School Professors Of 2022

First off, we are super stoked to present this year’s Best 40-Under-40 list of MBA professors, featured right now on our homepage. This is the 10th edition of our annual recognition, and through 400 total honorees overall, our goal remains unchanged: To identify and celebrate the most talented young professors currently teaching in MBA programs around the world.

This year’s list includes professors from 33 different schools, including 14 international schools, along with 18 exceptional women, the most we’ve ever had. We received more than 2,240 nominations and evaluated 140 individual professors on their teaching honors, research impact, and the breadth and quality of their nominations.

We congratulate each man and woman honored this year, and we invite you to read their individual profiles at poetsandquants.com.

Please, keep an eye out for our 2023 nomination period which will open late this fall. We’ll announce the opening at PoetsandQuants.com as well as on our various newsletters and social media platforms.

No. 2: Meet the MBA Class of 2023

In the news you can use category, check out Jeff Schmitt’s  latest crop of “MBA Class Of” profiles. These profiles offer a deeper look into top MBA programs from the perspective of current students. You’ll learn about key program features while getting admission tips for the students themselves.

If you’re still searching for a program that fits you, these Class Of collections are a good place to start. This month, Jeff features University of Minnesota Carlson, Carnegie Mellon Tepper, Washington Foster, and other top schools. Start by searching “Class of 2023” in our search bar.

No. 3: Success Stories: Application Insights From Elite MBAs

For more admission advice, this story by editor Marc Ethier compiles tips from students who nabbed offers from some of the most elite MBA programs around the globe.

At Poets&Quants, we publish a lot of success stories from business school applicants who earned the vaunted “triple admit” to Harvard, Wharton, and Stanford, as well as other elite B-schools.

Besides some world-class advice, Marc’s collection also offers a wave of inspiration for aspiring MBAs. You can find the story by searching “Success Stories” on our homepage.

No. 4: Wharton Freshmen Beat A Crowd Of MBAs In Major Venture Competition

Finally, if you missed the story about this Wharton School freshman who just won the schools premiere startup challenge, take a few minutes to read it now.

While most of his high school classmates were still trying to figure out where their interests lied, Aravind Krishnan was genetically engineering a plant to create a cheaper, more environmentally sustainable way to test for toxins in drinking water, medical equipment, and vaccines. The company he founded, ToxiSense, could just save a prehistoric crab and the coastal ecosystem that depends on it.

Read about Krishnan’s journey, along with the journey of the three Wharton undergrads he recruited to his company in our MBA news tab at poetsandquants.com.

Well, that’s it. Another four P&Q stories we think you shouldn’t miss. You can let us know what stories we should have mentioned but didn’t get to in the comments.

Before I go, I want to alert all the school seekers out there to CentreCourt’s upcoming MBA Festival events. These events connect prospective students with admission experts, alumni, and career development teams at the top MBA programs around the country – and the world.

Our next series, MBA Voices, is happening June 7-8, and you can register for free on our events tab at Poets&Quants.com.

Thank you for listening. Again, I’m Kristy Bleizeffer with Poets&Quants, and you can join me next week, right here, for a recap of what’s important in the world of business education. Stay informed!
