As a former admissions officer at MIT Sloan, Kristen is passionate about demystifying the application process for her clients and preventing them from making costly mistakes that jeopardize their candidacy. Coming from an English major background, she particularly enjoys helping applicants craft their unique stories and show their authentic selves to the Admissions Committee. Through getting to know clients on a deeper level, she encourages them to uncover what truly motivates and inspires them, leading them to clearly articulate their goals and the path they are on to achieve them. Kristen has helped candidates gain admission to top MBA programs including those at HBS, Stanford GSB, Wharton, MIT Sloan, Chicago Booth, Columbia Business School, Kellogg, and Tuck, among others.
Kristen began developing her expertise in graduate management admissions in 2011 when she joined the Admissions team at the MIT Sloan School of Management, but her passion for education began long before that. Following her graduation from Boston College, she began her professional career at a publishing start-up and discovered an interest in recruiting, interviewing, and training new hires. After earning her MS in Leadership and Human Resources Management from Northeastern University, she moved onto MIT Sloan to pursue her passion for recruiting and evaluation.
During Kristen’s eight-year career at MIT Sloan, she evaluated hundreds of applicants to the full-time MBA, Sloan Fellows, Master of Finance, Leaders for Global Operations, and Master of Business Analytics programs. She has experience giving Admissions presentations worldwide, reading applications, conducting interviews, and managing the waitlist. Kristen ultimately oversaw the evaluation process for all programs, leading the Admissions Committee and training readers and interviewers on Sloan’s evaluation criteria. She was also a member of the team that rolled out Sloan’s deferred enrollment process for college seniors.
Outside of her work as an admissions consultant, Kristen is also a devoted mom to two boys and enjoys traveling, reading, and cheering on the sidelines for soccer, flag football, and karate.

Working with Kristen was one of the best decisions I made during the MBA application process. She helped me craft a compelling story that felt authentic while also making me stand out across highly competitive applicant pools. Her feedback was always thoughtful, direct, and actionable, and she was incredibly responsive throughout every stage of the process. Beyond the applications themselves, she was a trusted advisor in helping me think through key decisions and stay confident during a stressful process. Thanks in large part to her guidance and support, I was fortunate to gain admission to all four schools I applied to, including two T10 programs and two M7 schools. I can’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you Kristen!!
Kristen was a fantastic mentor and I’m so glad to have worked with her during the application process. A few of her highlights and why that worked well for me: 1) She recommended that we do a few brainstorming exercises in the beginning rather than jumping straight into the essay writing process. This helped me clarify why I wanted an MBA and my attributes to highlight in the application. 2) She’s an incredible story-teller and kept me focused on “why this matters.” I was able to deliver my points a lot clearer with her guidance. 3) I found her mentorship to be the right balance between constructive feedback without overbearing. She was always interested in my story and keeping it authentic to me, and never imposed her recommendations on what a good story should sound like. Overall, really fortunate to have worked with Kristen and would highly recommend!
Working with Kristen on my MBA applications was one of the best decisions I made in the process. She had a sharp eye for what each program was really looking for and helped me strengthen my essays in ways I wouldn’t have seen on my own, pushing past surface-level edits to make sure my career goals came through clearly and authentically. She also overhauled how I was presenting my experience on my resume, tightening the formatting and framing so it actually told a story. What I valued most, though, was that she was never afraid to give me honest, critical feedback. When my application wasn’t where it needed to be for Round 1, she told me directly and pushed me to wait for Round 2, advice that was hard to hear in the moment but absolutely right. I genuinely don’t think I would have gotten into both Harvard and Stanford without her.
Kristen was INCREDIBLE to work with and made me feel comfortable asking her all my questions and always was great at talking through everything with me. Moreover, she was great with offline edits (not just live calls!), making it easy for us to iterate even when I was traveling. I cannot recommend Kristen enough!
I’ve worked with Kristen for 4+ months, from identifying my strengths and career/life stories to the 5th or 6th round of essay edits for 4 schools. Her experience as a key part of Sloan’s AdCom, and from reviewing hundreds of applications really allowed her to give me specific, actionable feedback on bringing out my best qualities that were tailored to each school. She pushed me to go beyond the obvious, and was very patient with my busy work schedule. She offered up live time to chat through the essays, and also was quick to send back feedback offline as well. In the end, I was able to receive admission from Wharton with Fellowship, London Business School with Fellowship, and Sloan. Kristen is the best MBA Admission Consultant I could’ve worked with, and I would recommend her highly to anyone looking to apply.
Working with Kristen was one of the best decisions I made in my MBA application journey. She is incredibly kind, personable, and truly takes the time to get to know you as a person. From day one, I felt supported and understood.
Her background as a former admissions committee member was super valuable. She gave clear, thoughtful guidance and honest feedback that helped me put together my strongest application. I genuinely don’t think I would have gotten into both of my top-choice M7 programs without her help.
Kristen was a constant source of reassurance. Whenever I felt anxious or unsure, she was the person I turned to. She always knew how to calm my nerves and help me move forward with confidence.
I’m deeply grateful for her support and can’t recommend her highly enough. 10/10 experience
I only applied to Wharton, UChicago Booth, and MIT Sloan, and I was fortunate to be accepted by all three. I came to know Kristen through colleagues who had applied to MBA programs with her guidance and spoke very highly of her.
I still remember my first conversation with Kristen. I was experiencing imposter syndrome and wanted to apply to additional programs as “safety schools” (though, of course, there is no such thing as a true safety school). Kristen gave me the confidence to focus only on the schools I truly wanted to attend and encouraged me to make the most of each application, rather than spreading myself too thin.
Throughout the process, Kristen was incredibly responsive and supportive. I cannot thank her enough for guiding me through every step. Even when I felt anxious, it was reassuring to know that Kristen was there, working with me to help achieve the best possible outcome.
In the final days before the deadlines, Kristen went above and beyond. She generously spent extra time over a weekend and even during the holidays to review my materials one last time. I still feel a bit guilty about this, as I had been overwhelmed by my full-time job and completed my applications at the last minute for Round 1.
I would highly recommend Kristen to anyone considering applying to an MBA program. She is extremely skilled at uncovering the strongest parts of your story and shaping them into a compelling, authentic narrative.
I really loved working with Kristen. Without her, I know my application materials (essays, interview prep, resume) would have been very different than what I submitted. She pushed me to go deeper and provide more depth in my writing and create a cohesive story for my application that still felt authentic to me. She was also very direct with her feedback, never settling for less than what she thought was best or sugarcoating anything. We iterated back and forth many times on my resume and certain essays, and I was always able to meet with her when I needed to. I got into Booth, Kellogg, and Haas, and got scholarship money from two of the three. Kristen came highly recommended to me from a friend and former coworker, I would highly recommend her to you!
I had a fantastic experience working with Kristin as my MBA consultant. She was incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially with my challenging scheduling needs. Beyond that, her insights into the application process and essays were invaluable. She struck the perfect balance between utilizing my perspective and pushing for more specificity and depth. Thanks to her guidance, my essays truly reflected my brand and goals. The results speak for themselves as I got accepted into my top choice program!
I cannot say enough good things about working with Kristen. Partnering with her was one of the best decisions I made during my MBA application process, and with her help I was admitted to my dream school, MIT Sloan.
I entered the process confident in my background but unsure how to tell my story in the strongest way. Kristen was incredible at helping me dig deeper and showcase the best version of myself. Her feedback was always honest, specific, and actionable, and her experience as a former admissions committee member really showed. She knows exactly what top programs are looking for and how to help you present yourself at your best.
Kristen was always responsive and supportive, which made an already very stressful experience a lot easier to navigate. When interview invitations came in, I was nervous, but her mock interviews made a huge difference. I walked into each interview feeling prepared, confident, and genuinely excited, and felt like I performed at my best.
I am incredibly grateful for Kristen’s guidance and support, and truly could not have done this without her.
As a round 1 applicant, coming from an underrepresented industry (energy) who did not start even the GMAT before June, my timeline was tight. But I was fortunate enough to find Kristen, who guided me through all the steps necessary to find out who I REALLY am and how to present my best self in the applications. She is always there when I needed to meet. She recommends the best path based on her experience but is also respectful about my own decision on what content to include in the essays. When deadline approaches, sometimes we can get up to 10 essay drafts back and forth within the same day, perfecting all the word choices. Without her, I doubt I could get into HBS, Wharton and Sloan! It was a pleasure working with her!
Working with Kristen was a game-changer in my MBA application process. Her personal branding exercises helped me clarify my story, and her essay feedback was sharp, honest, and always pushed me to go deeper. Kristen also ran incredibly effective mock interviews that made me feel confident and prepared going into the real thing. Thanks to her guidance, I felt focused and supported every step of the way — and I got into my top choice program. Highly recommend!
Not everyone needs a consultant for the admissions process, but for those who do – I had a great experience working with Kristen! She is so professional and realistic, but also empathetic and gets to know your story and goals on a personal level. Really a pleasure to work with someone as good at their job as Kristen!
Kristen was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the entire process. She took the time to understand my background and work experience, and skillfully helped me craft a compelling narrative that aligned with my future goals. Her talent for identifying common threads across my stories and refining language for clarity and impact was invaluable. From big-picture strategy to the smallest grammatical edits, Kristen was consistently thoughtful, responsive, and engaged every step of the way. I highly recommend working with her!
I worked with Kristen Lindeman in my R2 application and she was instrumental in me getting offers at Wharton and Sloan. She is so thoughtful and skillful at connecting the dots and was able to draw out the true common thread behind my stories. I would not have been to get my offers without Kristen.
Thanks to Kristen I was able to refine my essays, my story line and my ‘why MBA’ answer. She was always thorough with her feedback and stuck to her timelines and expected return dates.
Kristen provided amazing and insightful feedback on my essays, application materials, and overall strategy. She is the reason I was accepted to three M7 schools, including my dream school! She was incredibly detail-oriented with her feedback and pushed me to think more deeply about how to articulate my stories and my goals. Going through the essay brainstorming process with Kristen actually helped me in my interviews later on as well, as it helped me get clear and succinct on my experiences. Kristen also provided very quick turnaround with her feedback. She also reviewed my work on the weekends and made time to meet late at night, which made working on my applications while continuing my day job much more manageable. I had free trial sessions with a few other highly-ranked MBA consulting firms, but I found Kristen’s support to be far beyond the rest due to her extensive experience in admissions. I cannot recommend Kristen more — she truly pushes you to approach your essays and applications in a way that gets at the heart of what schools want to know, while being authentic to yourself.
I truly don’t know what I would have done without Kristen throughout my MBA journey. She played a crucial role not only in helping me craft a compelling personal story but also in guiding me through some of the deeper questions I needed to answer to create a strong application. One of Kristen’s greatest strengths is her ability to distill complex information into a cohesive, compelling narrative. Her expertise was especially invaluable during the essay-writing process. Kristen had what I can only describe as a magical ability to weave together the various thoughts and ideas I had, making my essays not only more polished but also more efficient to write. Kristen’s professionalism is second to none—she’s responsive, thorough, and always provides clear direction, making her an absolute joy to work with. I also wasn’t a ‘perfect’ applicant, but Kristen helped me address any potential weaknesses in a way that showcased them as growth experiences, which was essential to my success in this process. Finally, Kristen and I built a meaningful relationship over time. We began working together in 2021 when I first started considering business school. After doing some branding work, it became clear to both of us that my ‘purpose’ wasn’t yet fully defined. I really needed a bit more experience to figure out what I truly wanted from an MBA. We reconnected a couple of years later, and with a much clearer vision of my goals, building my story became a more straightforward task. Thanks to her guidance, I was admitted to two of my top choices, including an M7 school that I had initially thought was beyond my reach. I truly believe that without Kristen’s support, this success would not have been possible.
Working with Kristen was an absolute game changer in my MBA application process. I went into it with a lot of imposter syndrome and uncertainty, but Kristen’s support and expertise made the entire process much easier and far less stressful. Her guidance helped me craft strong applications that truly highlighted my unique stories, which ultimately led to 3 acceptances (including two M7s) with scholarships ranging from $60K to $150K!
Kristen came highly recommended by a coworker, and I completely agree—she is an incredibly responsive and hardworking consultant. What sets her apart is her ability to really work with you to pull out the key elements of your story. While there’s a ton of free information out there, it was her approach to brainstorming and refining those stories that made my essays stand out. She also challenged me to dig deeper and be authentic in my storytelling, which I believe played a huge role in securing my scholarships.
Despite juggling work and multiple applications, Kristen made everything manageable. She was incredibly responsive, provided detailed feedback, and was always available to brainstorm ideas. Beyond being a consultant, she was a true cheerleader, offering unwavering support whenever self-doubt crept in.
I also learned a lot from Kristen about marketing myself and my experiences, and even negotiating—skills I hadn’t anticipated picking up. She always took the time to explain her reasoning behind her suggestions, which I found to be both educational and insightful.
Overall, I couldn’t have done this process without Kristen. Her guidance, expertise, and support were absolutely essential, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything she helped me achieve.
Kristen truly helped me uncover my deeper ‘WHY,’ enabling me to articulate my motivations and goals with clarity. She brought structure to my story, weaving my experiences and aspirations into a compelling and coherent narrative. Her guidance was invaluable in showcasing my unique journey authentically and impactfully
Working full-time while juggling the demands of the MBA application seemed like an overwhelming task at first. However, Kristen made everything structured and seamless, guiding me step-by-step through the entire process. From exploring my personal brand and narrowing down my career aspirations to selecting the right schools and fine-tuning my resume, she was there every step of the way. Her background in admissions at MIT Sloan gave her a unique perspective on what the adcoms are looking for, and her insights were invaluable in helping me position myself effectively. We worked together on brainstorming and polishing my essays, and she was always quick to offer suggestions that improved both the content and the clarity of my stories.
Thanks to her support, I was fortunate enough to receive offers from two M7 schools, and I truly believe that her guidance played a key role in my success. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking an MBA consultant who offers not only expertise but also a personalized approach that puts the candidate’s best interests first.
Navigating the MBA application process can feel overwhelming, especially with the endless online forums dissecting everyone’s chances. Kristin Lindeman cut through all that noise and gave me the clarity and confidence I needed to pursue my dream school, MIT Sloan. From the very beginning, she brought a sense of focus and encouragement that transformed what felt like an intimidating journey into a manageable and even empowering experience.
What truly sets Kristin apart is her ability to uncover the extraordinary in the everyday. I often dismissed my stories as too “normal” or unremarkable, but Kristin saw their potential and helped me reframe them in ways that felt both powerful and authentic. She didn’t just help me articulate my experiences; she brought them to life with depth and nuance, showing me how to present my journey in a way that was compelling and true to who I am.
I can’t thank Kristin enough for her insight, patience, and belief in my potential. Working with her was an absolute privilege, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a supportive, thought partner in the MBA application process.
I worked with Kristen for my MBA applications, and I felt she went above and beyond for me. She was a great balance of pushing me to do my best, while also providing me with compassionate feedback and understanding through a very pressured admissions cycle. She defines her superpower as being able to pull out important elements of her clients’ stories and help form a compelling narrative, and I can honestly say this is 100% spot on. I couldn’t be more grateful for her and Melody/Vantage Point, and I got into top schools that I am so excited to attend! Thank you!
Kristen was an incredible support throughout my MBA application process. She played a crucial role in helping me build my story and explore my personal brand, offering truly personalized advice that felt tailored to my unique situation. Her guidance was instrumental in crafting compelling essays that highlighted the stronger parts of my application while effectively addressing any weak spots.
Kristen was always professional, honest, and supportive, with quick turnaround times, insightful feedback, and a willingness to meet whenever needed. Her support was key to helping me secure an offer at my top-choice MBA program, and I couldn’t be more grateful!
She was super responsive, very professional, and was always really insightful. The suggestions she provided in my application went well beyond internet sources and other consultants I have worked with. I found it especially helpful how she patiently and thoughtfully crafted a personalized essay narrative with me, capturing the various career changes I had during the last couple years. Vantage Point’s MBA resources were also invaluable.
With her support, I gained admission to the HBS 2+2 program and the Stanford GSB Deferred Admissions program. I cannot recommend her and the Vantage Point team highly enough!
Knowing that MIT Sloan was my top choice, I went for Kristen right away as she has the right experience and deep understanding of how Sloan works. Throughout this journey, Kristen has provided incredible feedback on my school selection, branding statement, essays, etc. What I like the most about Kristen is that she provides candid and constructive feedback. This allowed me to think twice on how I position myself in this competitive application process, how I tweak my essays to stand out, etc. I’d highly recommend Kristen if you’re looking for someone to provide constructive, objective, and honest feedback for your applications to those M7 schools.
Kristen provided incredible support for my MBA journey, especially navigating the inner workings of MIT Sloan as it was my top choice. I was initially working with another MBA consultant and switched to Kristen and couldn’t have been happier that I did. Her input was highly specific and tailored to my situation – helping me to land acceptances at all of my top choice programs.
If I could give a review above 5 stars, I would! After working with a consultant before Kristen and not having a good experience, I was nervous about hiring another one. Within the first 5 minutes of meeting with Kristen, I knew I had nothing to worry about.
Kristen is the most responsive, involved, and attention-to-detail consultant you could ask for. Kristen went above and beyond with her commitment to helping me with my applications and worries, far beyond any other consultant I’ve heard about from my peers and my own experience.
From the get-go, Kristen allowed me to set expectations of how I would need her help, and she worked tirelessly to exceed those. I met with Kristen once a week, sometimes more than that, to walk through my progress on brainstorming, essays, video responses, and other elements of my applications. She helped me create a detailed plan for each essay to make sure it flowed correctly and highlighted all the best aspects of my application.
We were in constant contact over email, having email chains for each school with over 100 emails a thread! Kristen turned drafts like a champ every couple of days (sometimes more than once a day!), each with thoughtful feedback and guidance on how I might streamline an idea or add something new she or I thought of. When I got stuck or had writer’s block, Kristen always made time to brainstorm and inspire me, making the writing process fun!
She worked one-on-one with my recommenders to provide feedback on their letters. Even though they have written multiple grad school recommendations over the years, my recommenders highlighted how Kristen’s feedback was thoughtful and concise, giving them tips and tricks on improving my recommendations and others moving forward.
Kristen made the whole thing seamless. I loved every second of my application process, and that is in large part due to her. She is a total rockstar, and anyone would be crazy not to hire her! Don’t look further!
I’m heading to my top M7 choice in the fall and could not be more thankful I had Kristen to guide me throughout the process! She is AWESOME!!
Kristen was an incredible resource from beginning to end in this MBA application journey, which ultimately ended in 3/3 acceptances to M7 schools. I can say without a doubt that I don’t know if I would have achieved these outcomes without her, for a few reasons in particular. First, Kristen did not shy away from giving her honest and well-informed opinion – even when it was sometimes difficult to hear, it was always with the intention to help me show my best self in my application. In my case, this began with Kristen’s advice to wait until Round 2 so I had time to re-write my GMAT and hopefully get a more competitive score. It turns out that this additional time allowed me to additionally complete invaluable reflections on where I wanted to apply and what I wanted to gain from my MBA, which I know enhanced my essays and allowed me to show up with strong conviction during my interviews.
When it came to defining my personal brand, story and crafting my essays, Kristen was a strong partner in bringing together what I originally saw as distinct unrelated elements of who I am and what I have done. Kristen played a pivotal role in helping me create a clear, cohesive and compelling story that most importantly was genuine and authentic to me. Overall, I leave this experience with noting but positive things to say about the support and partnership I received from Kristen throughout the last year.
As a STEM professional reapplying to an M7 MBA program after an initial rejection, Kristen’s help was pivotal. Unlike other consultants I’d worked with, Kristen’s approach was in a league of its own. She has a unique talent for identifying and enhancing the strengths in my application, choosing the right stories, and ensuring a powerful and coherent narrative. Her ability to communicate complex ideas concisely and effectively made a huge difference. Thanks to her guidance, I turned my previous rejection into an acceptance at the same prestigious school. For anyone looking to make a significant impact on their MBA application, especially reapplicants, Kristen and VANTAGE POINT MBA CONSULTING team’s expertise is unmatched.
There are a lot of consultants who understand what top MBA programs admissions is looking for and what a strong application looks like. There are few like Kristen who will challenge you, force you to look into your past and your inspirations, and truly help you grow you until you reach that point.
Before I engaged Kristen, I spoke with a number of other consultants who encouraged me to apply almost exclusively to T15 schools, and only one M7 as a reach. I was a little discouraged as I had poured everything into my test scores and work progression – but said my dream school was not reasonable.
When I met with Kristen and Melody, I told them about my goals and they agreed to work with me to reach my target.
We started in the Spring with a personal branding exercise and iterated on my essays through the Summer. At each point, Kristen would ask me to dig deep and consider the root inspiration for my decisions, and how they related to my future goals etc. She also knew my personal past so well she mentioned possible connections between my actions that I had not considered but were very much true and powerful in my personal story. This process resulted in a consistent and genuine narrative within my application which was key.
In the end, we beat the odds. I was admitted to 3 M7 schools (including my dream school) and 2 T10 in R1. I was also fortunate enough to receive scholarships in many cases. All of this was only possible because of Kristen.
Do yourself a favor. Work with Kristen. You will learn about yourself and get your dream admit.
Kristen was an incredible resource to lean on during my MBA application process. I worked on 5 applications with her and received acceptances to 4/5 MBA programs. Her comments and guidance were constructive, direct, and extremely helpful. She helped to point out strengths in my profile that I had neglected to highlight and also gave extremely helpful points in tailoring my applications to each school. Genuinely could not have done it without her. Whatever state your application is at currently, I’m willing to bet that Kristen can bring it to the next level.
The biggest regret I had this past admission cycle was to have not worked with Kristen sooner – I had worked with two other consultants from different companies on a few other schools before I started working with Kristen and but man Kristen was on a whole different level I didn’t even know that existed. She truly cares and does not stop at mediocrity – she will bring the best out in you. I can’t believe how big a difference she made in my applications. She is great at everything: from brainstorming and picking the right stories to set the right structure and flow of the stories to communicating in a limited number of words efficiently and effectively, and to digging out and connecting what’s special about you to what the specific school is looking for. After experiencing how amazing Kristen is, it’s obvious that my other two consultants (despite having seemingly good profiles and experience) didn’t care nearly as much and weren’t good at many of the areas I listed. I wish I went all-in with Kristen from the start, so please don’t make the same mistake I made!
I had a great experience working with Kristen on five MBA applications. She was really helpful in helping me understand what various adcoms look for in each of their essay prompts, and helping me think through how I should tailor my personal story and goals to address what each school was looking for. Working with Kristen enabled me to get into 4 of the 5 schools I applied to, including 3 M7s. Kristen also did a great job of understanding and working around my professional commitments, which made working with her very enjoyable and manageable.
Working with Kristen was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my MBA application journey. She was personable and willing to spend the time to learn about you. Her knowledge as a former adcom was extremely helpful – she provided clear feedback and guidance throughout the process. I couldn’t have gotten into my top choice in M7 if it weren’t for Kristen. 10/10 highly recommend working with Kristen.
Kristen was a fantastic consultant to guide me on my MBA journey. ability to provide meaningful feedback and framing was unparalleled, largely driven by her experience working in Sloan’s adcom and recognizing key aspects that I should highlight in my story. She laid out a very clear plan of action and was a great communicator on how best for us to use our time together.
I believe that her support and feedback were key factors in my acceptance in my top choice, “reach” school, which I was not expecting an acceptance for.
An added bonus is the emotional and personal investment that she makes in her clients – I constantly felt that Kristen was a supporter and had my best interest at heart.
I worked with Kristen on applications for two schools. I was accepted into my top choice and waitlisted at the other. Throughout the application process, Kristen provided invaluable help every step of the way. I was most impressed by her taking the time to really get to know me and learn my story so that she could help me craft my essays in an authentic and compelling manner. Kristen made my applications so much stronger by providing thoughtful notes and insights into how the ad coms think about applications. Best of all, her guidance took much of the stress out of the process and allowed me to focus on putting together the strongest application possible.
