The Saunders College of Business MBA: What You Need To Know
Ranking No. 90 this year and with a vision to be the first choice for enterprising students and creative enterprises, Saunders College of Business attracts students who possess a curiosity that drives them and who place a premium on entrepreneurial thinking and innovative solutions.
Located in New York State on the southern shore of the Great Lakes, RIT is in close proximity to the world’s largest cities and corporations, as well as winter sport destinations and picturesque wine regions. They are known for their beautiful campus with a friendly, vibrant, international community as well as for their four seasons throughout the year.
Saunders welcomed a cohort of 76 students this year, and by design, with low student-to-faculty ratios, their faculty is highly accessible and committed to the personal success of each student.
Saunders recognizes that instant access to information, big data, social media, and the global economy are forcing business leaders to be creative and innovate to succeed, and has designed the curriculum to ensure that students have in-classroom opportunities to practice blending business, technology, science, design, and liberal arts together to reflect the reality of the world outside of the classroom.
The program can be either completed in 2 years, or in 1 accelerated year. Students flow through 11 core technology-based courses, 3 courses in specialty areas of their choice, and 2 electives courses across nine RIT Colleges. The specialties allow students to hone in on a specific focus, in areas such as accounting, business analytics, digital marketing, finance, innovation management, management information systems, marketing, and supply chain management.
Electives allow them to customize their experience and share workspaces with artists, designers, engineers, and computer scientists. Blending students of different backgrounds also gives Saunders graduates the ability to differentiate themselves successfully within a crowded job market.
Saunders also offers Leadership Fellows opportunities, four global campuses in China, Croatia, Dubai, and Kosovo where students commonly participate in competitions like Tiger Tank and Business Analytics, various Centers dedicated to Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Government, Society and more.
“A Saunders MBA opens the door to endless opportunities by leveraging the vast resources of RIT that uniquely combine business and technology. Our faculty possess industry experience and conduct cutting-edge research while putting a premium on applied learning. A high faculty-to-student ratio allows faculty, advisors, and mentors to get to know you, offering you personal attention and caring about your career success,” says Bryan Reinicke, Program Director and Associate Director.
