U.S. News says it will publish its closely watched and highly controversial MBA ranking for 2025 on April 8th.
Last year, Stanford Graduate School of Business and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School shared top honors in the 2024 U.S. News MBA ranking of the best full-time MBA programs in the U.S. The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, which topped the publication’s 2023 ranking, and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management tied in the No. 3 spot. MIT’s Sloan School of Management took fifth place.
The updated U.S. News MBA ranking will feature no major changes to the way it is calculated. “While there will be limited changes in how some ranking factors were calculated, this edition features no completely new ranking factors in any multifactor rankings, nor changes in how those factors were weighted,” according to U.S. News.
In an attempt to minimize errors in the U.S. News MBA ranking, the publication said it would share its ranking and statistical analysis with schools prior to public release. “As an additional procedural step in this year’s rankings that used statistical survey data, schools were given a second opportunity to review their submitted surveys after being reminded of the survey questions and provided a draft rank using their initially supplied data,” added U.S. News. “This step was done so schools could detect any reporting issues well in advance of publication.”
