Consultant Bio

Hi, I’m Angela, and I’m a lifelong student of human nature. I’m fascinated by what it means to be human, what unites us, and how we can fulfill our true potential. I also believe that life is supposed to be fun, and therefore, so is work. During my nearly 20-year professional development career, I have helped thousands of people (mostly MBAs) uncover their unique character, values, and professional desires, so that they can shine in any environment, get everything they want in their careers, and have more fun along the way. Working with me means you’ll be more self-aware, more self-confident, and better connected in your community.

After my MBA at Chicago Booth, I did my apprenticeship in business at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). I was a consultant, and then I shifted to a training and recruiting role: I coached women from top 10 business schools through BCG’s recruiting process and then later to succeed at the firm. Some other cool stuff I have done that I use every day in my work: I’m a trained screenwriter, experiential philosopher (I have a degree from Yale to prove it!), and a lover of Eastern thought, mindfulness, and meditation.

Company Information

OK you’re smart, so you’ve probably read a lot of these. Here’s how we’re the same as some admissions consultants out there: in our elite school packages, we touch every single part of your application for your target schools as many times as we need to until the finished product inspires both you and us. We bring over a decade of expertise to bear, and we do all of this on a predictable timeline. Much more interesting, though, is what makes Career Protocol different. We’re not really consultants. We’re teachers. Career Protocol is a Professional Development Firm.

We think the MBA application process is a golden opportunity to uplevel your professional profile and executive skillset BEFORE you take the leap into the MBA. So instead of simply editing your essays, we use the MBA application as a training ground for new capabilities that will last you a lifetime.

Menu of Services and Associated Costs

Think of the Irresistible MBA Application Package (as we call it) as a nearly year-long course in executive-level self-awareness, communication, and relationship building skills tailored to your needs and experiences. We work with you on every aspect of the MBA application not only to maximize your chances of success but also to uplevel your executive skillset in the process. Your Career Protocol Instructor will teach you how to explore your values, tell epic stories, and build genuine relationships with your fellow humans in everything you do (yes, even when you’re just writing an MBA application!) so that you can have the impact you want to have in your career. Imagine how empowered you’ll feel the first day of class knowing that you used the whole year prior to your MBA building key leadership skills with an experienced teacher by your side.

If you want someone to edit your essays, work with friends and family. If you want to transform your ability to stand out for the rest of your career as the bright shiny unicorn* you are, work with us.

*We mean unicorn in the one-of-a-kind-unique sense, not in the instagrammy** rainbow sense.

** We do like instagrammy rainbow unicorns, tho. Especially the cupcake kind.

The fun doesn’t stop. We’ve got…

  • The Interview Hero Coaching Program
  • YOMO: You Only MBA Once (AKA Your Guide to Getting Your Best MBA Internship), and
  • How to Be the Smartest Person in the Room (AKA The Consulting Case Interview Hero Program)

These are all affordable group coaching programs to help you target and get the internship and post-MBA job you really want, while – of course – building your professional skillset every step of the way.

  • Best teacher ever

I originally approached because I was planning to apply to business school, but I quickly realized there were other things I wanted to work on before I applied to business school, so I decided to hire her as my career coach first. I work in the financial services sector (of one of the largest firms) and since I started working with Angela a year and a half ago, I have been promoted (twice), sent to a leadership development class, have been and have been asked to lead a leadership development class. Angela is, without a doubt, the smartest person I know. She can quickly add value to any situation and puts a unique and easy strategy together to achieve success and this ...

  • Definite must do career prep. program!
I found out about Angela in 2016 through the Forté MBALaunch program - she was leading a webinar on telling your story for MBA applications. I loved the session because her advice and content were incredibly thoughtful. Ultimately, I decided to sign up for her MBA career preparation class - YOMO (You Only MBA Once). One of the aims of the class is to position pre-MBA candidates to make the most of their MBA experience by crystalizing their career goals. I found this most helpful during my MBA application process because the YOMO program helped me to crystallize what I want from my career and articulate it incredibly well in my MBA applications, as a result I will be joining the HBS Class of 2020. ...

  • Nailed the interview and landed the job after working with Angela!!
I am currently an MBA student at an M7 school. I worked with Angela for internship recruiting and interviewing, and with Angela's coaching, I landed an MBA internship at Goldman Sachs for the summer! The service we did is called “The Interview Hero Coaching Package,” and I also worked with her on the “How to Be The Smartest Person in the Room” I would highly recommend to MBA students that you work with Angela to perfect your interviewing whether you are applying for summer internships or full time positions. As a new MBA student, I figured that the Career Center at my school would be enough of a resource to help me with interviewing and coaching. However, this was not the case. It was not ...

  • You Only MBA Once (YOMO)
I've known Angela for years through her wide involvement with conferences and diversity events. Angela is a kind, caring, and extremely talented individual whose storytelling abilities translate well into the tailored and well-thought advice she gives her clients. I was fortunate to complete her YOMO program before matriculating to HBS. I found it to be a very helpful, introspective, and fun exercise which enabled me to enter my first year with a clear idea of what I wished to pursue both professionally and personally within my career. The community aspect was also great as I prepared to begin school. Highly recommend working with Angela!
