Consultant Bio

Hi, I’m Angela, and I’m a lifelong student of human nature. I’m fascinated by what it means to be human, what unites us, and how we can fulfill our true potential. I also believe that life is supposed to be fun, and therefore, so is work. During my nearly 20-year professional development career, I have helped thousands of people (mostly MBAs) uncover their unique character, values, and professional desires, so that they can shine in any environment, get everything they want in their careers, and have more fun along the way. Working with me means you’ll be more self-aware, more self-confident, and better connected in your community.

After my MBA at Chicago Booth, I did my apprenticeship in business at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). I was a consultant, and then I shifted to a training and recruiting role: I coached women from top 10 business schools through BCG’s recruiting process and then later to succeed at the firm. Some other cool stuff I have done that I use every day in my work: I’m a trained screenwriter, experiential philosopher (I have a degree from Yale to prove it!), and a lover of Eastern thought, mindfulness, and meditation.

Company Information

OK you’re smart, so you’ve probably read a lot of these. Here’s how we’re the same as some admissions consultants out there: in our elite school packages, we touch every single part of your application for your target schools as many times as we need to until the finished product inspires both you and us. We bring over a decade of expertise to bear, and we do all of this on a predictable timeline. Much more interesting, though, is what makes Career Protocol different. We’re not really consultants. We’re teachers. Career Protocol is a Professional Development Firm.

We think the MBA application process is a golden opportunity to uplevel your professional profile and executive skillset BEFORE you take the leap into the MBA. So instead of simply editing your essays, we use the MBA application as a training ground for new capabilities that will last you a lifetime.

Menu of Services and Associated Costs

Think of the Irresistible MBA Application Package (as we call it) as a nearly year-long course in executive-level self-awareness, communication, and relationship building skills tailored to your needs and experiences. We work with you on every aspect of the MBA application not only to maximize your chances of success but also to uplevel your executive skillset in the process. Your Career Protocol Instructor will teach you how to explore your values, tell epic stories, and build genuine relationships with your fellow humans in everything you do (yes, even when you’re just writing an MBA application!) so that you can have the impact you want to have in your career. Imagine how empowered you’ll feel the first day of class knowing that you used the whole year prior to your MBA building key leadership skills with an experienced teacher by your side.

If you want someone to edit your essays, work with friends and family. If you want to transform your ability to stand out for the rest of your career as the bright shiny unicorn* you are, work with us.

*We mean unicorn in the one-of-a-kind-unique sense, not in the instagrammy** rainbow sense.

** We do like instagrammy rainbow unicorns, tho. Especially the cupcake kind.

The fun doesn’t stop. We’ve got…

  • The Interview Hero Coaching Program
  • YOMO: You Only MBA Once (AKA Your Guide to Getting Your Best MBA Internship), and
  • How to Be the Smartest Person in the Room (AKA The Consulting Case Interview Hero Program)

These are all affordable group coaching programs to help you target and get the internship and post-MBA job you really want, while – of course – building your professional skillset every step of the way.

  • So Much More Than An Admissions Consultant!
I came from a lower socioeconomic status and clawed out of poverty by planning ahead and relying on my community for support. Yet, most people where I come from couldn’t tell you where Harvard is located on a map, and you’d be lucky if they had even heard of Stanford. Despite being a highly qualified deferred enrollment candidate, I didn’t have my community to help me on this one, and I was dreading going on that journey alone -at least, until I met Angela. I would love to say that I shopped around, but truth be told an HBS alum I respect referred her to me and between all the free resources on her website and the immense value she packed into our free 30-minute ...

  • Angela is Better Than Other Top Consultants! Wish I Had Worked With Her Sooner!
After seeing first-hand how knowledgeable Angela is about the business school application process through Forte MBA Launch, I knew I had to work with her! Angela supported me in getting into Wharton with a named merit scholarship. I worked with a different consultant at a top firm the year prior, but I much preferred working with Angela and wish I had worked with her sooner! I felt the previous consultant I worked with was too busy for me at times and kind of gave up on me. Angela is always wholly supportive. I think my best essay topics came from ideas that I put forth and deeply refined with Angela, so I recommend that applicants come to the brainstorming session with Angela with a ...

  • Angela Will Change Your Life!!!!
I will always remember my first phone call with Angela. I was a nervous wreck, with a million and a half questions about the MBA process and uncountable doubts about my prospects. After talking to Angela, she not only gave me hope but also real advice. Within the next few days, I signed up with Career Protocol; looking back, I can say it was the best decision I made. While I didn’t work directly with Angela on my application (I worked with another AMAZING consultant – Britt), Angela and I worked closely on mapping out my career path. She scheduled a career coaching call with me where we would discuss what I wanted to do post-MBA; this call was not part of the package, and ...

Angela helps you realize how amazing you already are. That alone empowered me to believe in myself and in my story. The rest was just putting the pieces together. I got accepted to one of my top schools and 4 other schools; all of them with scholarships ranging from 50K to full tuition.

  • Outsmarts & Outshines The Rest With Her Quirky & Ruthlessly Successful Approach
    3 months ago
I am still stunned. If you had told me 12 months ago that I would be picking up the phone to hear "Congratulations! We would love to admit you to the Stanford GSB Class of 2022" I would have told you that you were simply being ridiculous, and to stop getting my hopes up. And yet, after working with Angela, I not only have a Stanford offer but offers to three other M7 schools, one with a scholarship! It's well beyond my wildest dreams, and I'm putting the effort into writing this review because I am so grateful to her and her team for the countless hours of support (literally, unlimited) that they put into getting me where I am today. My background: I ...

  • Angela's Not Just An MBA-Guru, She's A Life-Guru - Get Ready For Some Major Growth
    3 months ago
Angela was the savior I didn’t even realize I needed. When I embarked on my MBA journey, I was confident that I could complete strong applications for my target schools on my own. Nope. 3 weeks before the first deadline, when my ego finally stepped aside, I reached out to Angela (who I had known previously) for help. She told me the task ahead was crazy, and maybe even that I was crazy… but 20 minutes later, I finally felt my shoulders come down, my eyes close, and my breath exhales when I heard her say “Let’s do this”. A few months later, I received an offer from Top3 and Top10 MBA programs in the US, and to top it off, I even got ...

  • Angela Finds the Magic in the Mundane

If you're looking for some help with your B-school app, I'm certain there are endless resources that will guide you to a successful candidacy. If you're looking to touch base with your most authentic self AND leverage that to get into the program of your dreams - I believe Angela's approach alone will help you on this journey. My background is non-traditional, to say the least: I have worked in several industries since graduating, have had more side-hustles than I can count on my hands and toes, and currently run two small businesses, alongside a demanding day-job. With visions of growing one of my ventures into something larger, I have been toying with the idea of going back to business school for a little over two ...

  • Angela Is Distinctly Better Than Other Top MBA Admissions Consultants
    5 months ago
I worked with another very qualified consultant from a top admissions consulting firm before working with Angela, which I think gives me a unique point of view on what makes Angela different from any other consultant. The self-discovery and storytelling process is really the foundation of the application and the part that you can control. Angela is an absolute maestra at guiding her clients through this - she helped me very effectively connect my values, experiences, and goals, allowing me to truly understand what I wanted to do during and after my MBA, which in turn resulted in essays that felt genuine and in admissions interviews in which I felt very comfortable with minimal preparation. I remember very vividly the call in which we tied the dots ...

  • Angela: M7 Maven - Now I'm a Booth Admit!!
Angela Guido is hands-down THE best investment I made for myself, not only for my MBA application process but for career and life advice in general. Much like you, I tirelessly researched admission consultants and had a handful of 30-minute consultation calls in order to find the best partner to help me during my MBA application. Every one of them was highly qualified, but after going through the Career Protocol website and speaking with Angela, I knew that her overall approach to this process was exactly what I was looking for. Here’s how I’d summarize the standout pieces of the Career Protocol experience: • Angela’s Process is bulletproof o One of the main reasons why I chose Angela was how approachable her whole process was. Angela created “Career Protocol”, where ...

  • The Partner you NEED on your MBA Journey!
The MBA application process can be nerve-wracking and intimidating. Although I had a solid GMAT score, work experience and extracurriculars, I was so nervous going into the process because I had a below average GPA for the top schools. But working with Angela made the process SO much less stressful and even fun! Before working on any of the essays with Angela, she has you fill out a discovery document, where you really reflect on yourself, your accomplishments, and the most important moments of your life thus far who have shaped who you are. Angela also makes a summary powerpoint of this document with the main themes and stories for your essays and interviews. I went back to this initial document and powerpoint over and over ...
