StoryCrafters Consulting is an elite MBA admissions consulting company, guiding clients with a unique story-driven approach to strategizing and crafting applications to the world’s top business schools.

After graduating from Yale, I moved to Moscow and taught Russian businessmen and businesswomen how to acculturate into the western marketplace. I also worked on a war testimonies project for Steven Spielberg and won awards on the film festival circuit for my films.

Constantly seeking new and exciting challenges, I founded StoryCrafters 5 years ago because I wanted to drastically improve upon the old MBA consulting paradigm. I decided to leverage specialized skill sets from journalism, screenwriting, marketing and advertising to develop an unconventional storytelling methodology that could be applied to the MBA admissions process.

StoryCrafters’ past clients range from Deloitte, Disney, to the world’s top private equity firms. Each year, we’ve succeeded in helping our clients gain admission to the country’s most prestigious business schools and MBA programs, including Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, MIT and Columbia.

After founding StoryCrafters, we gained valuable insight into the admissions consulting process. Many of our clients initially worked with some of the older consulting companies. They left and came to us after word-of-mouth spread about our unique story-driven approach to MBA consulting.

Some of these companies advertise consultants who have earned an MBA from a top school or are admissions office insiders. The notion that they’re more qualified to help you gain admission to any of these schools is a marketing myth. Plain and simple.

Consultants with MBA’s got accepted because they had a story that worked. But your story is different. And unless you work with someone who has the specialized skill set to help you do an exceptional job of telling your story, you aren’t maximizing your potential as an applicant.

Consultants with admissions office experience may do a great job of telling you the qualities a school looks for and then offer criticism. They possess a particular skill set: they can recognize a great application and a poor application. However, they can’t necessarily help you craft a great application and story.

The old consulting style is based on some initial prognosticating of numbers and stats, and then consultants offer criticism during the course of the application process. In other words, they’ll tell you what you’re doing wrong, then cross their fingers and hope that with enough critical notes, you’ll eventually get things right. That’s only half the job.
