  • Authentic, Genuine and Truly the Best Supporter Possible
    2 weeks ago
Jonathan turned into a friend immediately allowing his playfulness and genuine interest in my story to almost eclipse how brilliantly smart he is. The combination of hyper competent coach and wickedly personable friend is extremely hard to come by. Jonathan truly understood what I was looking for and helped me articulate it in a way that I could not. Perhaps the most valuable way he helped me was by introducing me to friends in his network that could speak precisely to the experiences I needed to listen to. With Jonathan, you don't just get his wisdom but he brings the wisdom of his entire network to be your coach. Jonathan helped me from the start of the MBA application through to considering the offers I ...

  • He treats you like someone worth betting on.
Jonathan doesn't just help you get in. He helps you understand why you belong there, and that's a different thing entirely. I came to Jonathan with a single goal: Emory. He respected that, but within the first call, he had already expanded my thinking in ways I hadn't considered. He built me a full spreadsheet with schools filtered by geography, GMAT waiver eligibility, consortium membership, and investment banking placement rates, before I even asked for it. That level of preparation told me everything about how he operates. Beyond strategy, Jonathan opened doors I didn't know existed. He introduced me to consortium funding paths, TOIGO, diversity weekends, and scholarship programs that weren't on my radar. More importantly, he connected me directly with current students at my target schools, ...

  • A true advisor
From the start, it was clear that Jon didn't just care about the consulting as a gig. He cared about my outcomes as a human. He gave me clear, actionable, and thoughtful advice, and my essays were materially improved as a result. He was generous with his time, and always made himself available, even on short notice. Jon really did pay attention to what I wanted, and who I was, and how I could translate that into my application.

  • An MBA admissions master, mentor, and genuine friend
    3 months ago
I spoke with a handful of admissions consultants, and almost all of them sounded like sales pitches. To be honest, I was very much “M7 or bust”, yet several tried to push me toward lower-tier programs as safety options. My first conversation with Jonathan felt completely different. He spoke to me like a friend and showed a genuine interest in my stories, values, and long-term aspirations. I still remember that what was supposed to be a 30-minute call turned into an hour-long conversation, and we didn’t even talk about schools. By the end of that first meeting, I knew with certainty that Jonathan was the person I wanted to work with. Working with Jonathan was a fun and tremendous experience. He was my No.1 supporter as we ...

  • Got Me Into 2 M7s + Clarity In Career Vision
    3 months ago
I am an international ORM reapplicant who was unsuccessful in gaining admission in the R2 cycle of the previous year. I was introduced to Jonathan as I was looking to reapply in R1 the subsequent year and worked with him to apply to 5 M7 programs. I was unsure what I wanted to do post-MBA (which I suspect came through in my previous unsuccessful applications). With Jonathan's guidance, I gained a clear direction for a career path that I was truly excited about, and that was unique to my lived experiences. This lent itself to an authentic and compelling story for my applications. His experience also came through during interview prep, which enabled me to feel confident in telling my story during these interviews. Despite the ...

I worked with Jonathan for my 2+2 Deferred MBA admissions. He was extremely diligent and proactive with his mentorship and helped me craft an excellent narrative for my applications. We have stayed in touch even after the admission cycle, and I feel very fortunate that I got to know him.

  • Trusted Guidance From Jonathan
Jonathan and I connected after I was waitlisted at Tuck. His guidance played a key role in helping me handle the uncertainty of the waitlist process. He worked with me on crafting updates to the admissions committee that were thoughtful, well timed, and impactful. Jonathan offered more than just strategic advice. He became a mentor who understood my goals, challenged my thinking, and helped me stay focused. I am genuinely grateful for his support and would recommend him to anyone seeking clarity and confidence on their MBA admissions path.

  • Jon has your back no matter what
I was in the middle of my application process when I met Jon through Fortuna to get much-needed help on a major part of my application. From the first call itself, he’s been an amazing mentor and a true friend. I was particularly confused about how to approach my post-MBA career narrative during my R1 applications. Jon helped me break down the stories and make clear connections, helping me figure out which stories made the most sense based on my background, interests, and expertise in order to craft a compelling narrative. He also helped me explore various career options from a 30,000 ft viewpoint to help me visualize my future fit with various career and life trajectories. He also prepared me for the admissions interview with his ...

Working with Jonathan was one of the best decisions I made during my MBA application journey. From the very beginning, he helped me craft a compelling and authentic narrative that truly reflected my experiences, aspirations, and strengths. His strategic guidance, deep understanding of the admissions process, and ability to highlight what makes each candidate unique were invaluable. Thanks to his support, I have been accepted into three, top 30 MBA programs with two with full scholarships! His insights into storytelling, essay structuring, and interview preparation made a significant difference in my confidence as an applicant. Jonathan has a proven track record of success as my fiancé also worked with him and received full scholarships to the programs he applied to. His guidance helped us achieve our MBA ...

  • A Transformative Mentor Who Helped Me Clarify My Path
    1 year ago
Working with Jonathan has been game changing for me. From day one, his commitment to deeply understanding my career goals and motivations set the tone for an incredibly productive collaboration. He didn’t just help me revise my essays—he helped me crystalize exactly why an MBA is important for me and where I want to steer my career in the long run. That early investment in my goals paid off in spades. My essay writing process was faster and more focused, and every draft—from my very first brainstorming session to the final polished piece—felt authentically me, bolstered by his challenges to dig deeper. Beyond essays, Jonathan guided me through interviews, provided real-time feedback, and was always available when I needed advice or a quick pep talk. ...

  • A Coach You Want In Your Corner
Jonathan is a true coach who knows exactly when to challenge you to dig deeper and when to let your ideas flow. I first heard about him from my brother—now a Yale MBA candidate—who recommended I work with Fortuna for my applications. Even though my brother and I have very different personalities and professional backgrounds, Jonathan’s approach felt seamlessly tailored to my own goals and working style. He not only saved me valuable time but also helped me develop an authentic narrative that highlighted who I am in the best possible light. His emphasis on understanding how my formative experiences shaped my career journey allowed me to present a clear, cohesive picture of myself throughout my applications. Jonathan’s career coaching expertise also helped me think beyond ...

  • Jonathan Is An Excellent Mentor & Counselor
    2 years ago
I worked with Jonathan in 2022 on my MBA applications, and his support was instrumental in helping me gain acceptance to three schools, including full scholarships from two of them. Unfortunately, I had to defer due to work commitments. This year, I reengaged Jonathan for the reapplication process, and once again, he exceeded expectations. Jonathan helped me craft a compelling and succinct narrative, ensuring that my story was consistent across my application materials. He was always honest and blunt when necessary, which helped sharpen my essays and strategy. His insights were invaluable, and I could not have asked for a better guide through this process and I have already recommended Jonathan to a few people including my fiancée. If you are serious about you ...

  • Exceptional MBA Consultant: A True Partner In Success
    2 years ago
Jonathan Masland is an outstanding MBA consultant who played a pivotal role in shaping my application strategy. I reached out to Fortuna, 2 weeks before the round 1 application deadline. They never tried to convince me to get a full package given the time constraint and suggested Jonathan. From the first interaction, Jonathan's expertise, personalized approach, and deep understanding of the MBA admissions process stood out. He took the time to thoroughly understand my unique background as a physician-scientist, helping me highlight my strengths and experiences in a way that truly resonated with each program’s values. What impressed me most was Jonathan’s ability to refine and articulate my narrative with clarity and precision. His feedback was always insightful, constructive, and tailored to my goals. Whether it ...

Jonathan was an excellent coach, and I cannot recommend him enough. With his unique experience from his many years at a top MBA program, he immediately opened my eyes to strategic moves in the admissions process that I otherwise would never have considered. We discussed my story and crafted an application that perfectly fit my target school. Thanks to Jonathan, I'm squarely in the mix for my dream school, a school that other admissions coaches told me was out of reach. • Undoubtedly One Of The Best
    2 years ago
I decided to work with Fortuna Admissions because I was concerned that while I had strong work experience, it would not compensate for my poor GPA and average GMAT. Jonathon helped me fix issues I did not even realize my application had. My resume, for example, which I thought was adequate, we iterated countless times, and then I realized just how inferior my initial draft was. After working with Jonathon, my essays were notably stronger, but more importantly, the story my entire application told was far more consistent and engaging. Not only did we iterate numerous times, but Jonathon was also incredibly responsive and quick to provide feedback, which was vital as I had tight deadlines. I have little doubt that I would not have ...
