Originally from a blue-collar agricultural community, I went to a small private university before working in investment banking. After banking I decided to help my Dad run the family fertilizer company. I’ve worked with CEOs, bankers, farmers, and factory workers. I’ve seen the need to learn what motivates others and be adaptable to environments.

I went to a non-target school and didn’t know about investment banking until my junior year. Despite this, I found a way to earn a job at a reputable middle market bank. After banking, I went to work for my family’s fertilizer company leading strategic growth initiatives. In this, new market sales have grown by over 110% in the past three years.
There is a debilitating lack of continuity between our production-based and service-based regions that must be fixed in order to usher in the next era of American commerce. In this, I want to strengthen United States agri-food supply chains and nutrition programs. I want to put myself among the best and brightest minds as I work towards this goal.

Hi! Loved reading how you are from a blue-collar agricultural community and are back to helping your father grow the fertilizer business. “Back to my roots” is always an inspiring story!
You display grit in terms of landing an Investment Banking job and that combination of a known brand along with the family business is a good balance. It is also great to work for a couple of years outside the family business and then return with a skill set and fresh ideas. With 5 years of tenure and diverse professional experience and the added ‘social’ element of agriculture, your work experience is superb!

The 735 is excellent and the GPA is good, no problems there 🙂
I do not have a full sense of what you do outside of work but your college leadership and volunteering experiences seem good. If you continue to be involved in your community post graduation then you are good!
Duke – would be shocked if you don’t get in, 95% Kellogg – high probability 75% Stanford – have a chance 30%
Good luck, happy to chat if you want a detailed review. Just execute and you will be fine 🙂
