Canadian B-Schools Gain Ground

Despite the diversification of study options the US has retained its market share, and is even more popular among candidates this year, up 2.7% to 65%. “Candidates are considering more options alongside, rather than in place of, the more established destinations,” the study’s authors concluded.

ASIAN BUSINESS SCHOOLS ALSO GAIN GROUND IN STUDY

Asian business schools also did much better in the study. Of the Asian countries only Singapore, was of interest to MBA candidates in 2009, the report said. The proportion of global applicants highlighting it as a preference has increased steadily from 6.42% to 15%.

“Since 2009 India, China and Japan have emerged on the radar of global MBA applicants. India (8%) and China (7%) both account for a greater proportion of the global total than Singapore did in 2009,” according to the report. “This points to a substantial rise in the profile of Asian business schools as priority destinations for today’s international MBA applicants.”
