The Yale School of Management is regarded as a purpose-driven program. What is your mission? How will your MBA at Yale SOM help you fulfill that mission? An MBA at SOM makes you a leader who has knowledge about both worlds, developed and not-so-developed. My mission is to bridge the gap between these worlds, by helping the purpose-driven non-profits.

Aside from your classmates, what was the key part of Yale SOM’s MBA curriculum or programming that led you to choose this business school and why was it so important to you? Yale’s curriculum teaches most of the aspects in two ways—for-profit and non-profit. Fighting against manual scavenging back in India and bringing down the level: That’s the part I loved about Yale’s curriculum.

What course, club, or activity excites you the most at Yale SOM? Nonprofit Board Fellows, Technology club, Social Impact Consulting clubs

Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: It was working with Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Mr. Bezwada Wilson in his campaigns to eradicate manual scavenging and raising funds for the rehabilitation of scavengers. Since the campaign, manual scavenging has reduced drastically in India.

What led you to pursue an MBA at this point and what do you hope to do after graduation? Coming from a tech background, I want to explore the management aspect of the business and utilize it for my future endeavors. I want to continue in the tech field after graduation, using my exposure to non-profit.

What other MBA programs did you apply to? Stern, Tuck, Cornell, Fuqua.

What advice would you give to help potential applicants gain admission into Yale SOM’s MBA program? Just be yourself, don’t fake it. And reach out to the alumni of the school before joining. It will give you a fair knowledge about the school’s culture and beliefs.
