P&Q’s Must Reads: The Top 100 Business Schools, Ranked By Research

Hello everyone  — Welcome back to Poets&Quants’ Must Reads, a quick, digestible recap of the top business school news, sponsored by CentreCourt, P&Q’s virtual admission events.

No. 1: The Top 100 Business Schools, Ranked By Research

Wharton’s research prowess is legendary in higher education. The University of Pennsylvania’s B-school is home to more than 20 research centers and initiatives, in every subject from analytics to public policy to social impact. Its scholarship generates new courses, programs, and partnerships between academics, industry, and government — all in the service of addressing pressing global business challenges.

It’s not a big surprise, then, that the business school has topped two major research rankings released in the last weeks: The Financial Times’ annual research ranking as well as the UT-Dallas North American and Worldwide.

No. 2: 100 Best & Brightest Undergraduate Business Majors Of 2024

Over at Poets&Quants For Undergrads, We’ve recognized the “Best and Brightest” business majors since 2016, and the list is always one of our most popular reads. 

To identify the 100 students on the list, we invite the top-50 schools in our annual undergraduate business school ranking to submit two graduating students that fit their definition of “Best & Brightest.”

This year’s list included 60 women and students hailing from nations outside the United States. They are an eclectic group of young stars from elite athletes to social activists to military veterans to startup founders.

No. 3:  BIG IdeaBounce 2024 | 14 Finalists Dazzle In SharkTank Contest

A new EV charging network for urban dwellers.

A digital incentive spirometer and mobile app designed to significantly improve recovery after operations.

A new way for incoming college students to meet and find needed resources on campus.

The student entrepreneurs behind these three new business ideas are among 14 finalists in this year’s BIG IdeaBounce® powered by Poets&Quants. The pitch competition, sponsored by the Olin Business School at Washington University, drew 120 entrants from all over the world. 

Finalists will be competing against each other for the $50,000 top prize before a panel of judges at Olin.
