Jonathan Masland heads up career development at Tuck

CAREER SERVICES TO SIT IN ON ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE MEETINGS FOR FIRST TIME

Masland noted that this is the sixth consecutive year of improvement in Tuck’s career stats and the early signs for the Class of 2015 make him optimistic for next year. “It’s a strong year. It feels almost like there are almost too many companies coming for company briefings but that is a really good problem to have.”

This year, for the very first time, Masland will sit in admission committee meetings, helping committee members evaluate applicants for next year’s entering class in the fall. “It’s a new thing we’re piloting this year,” says Masland, who cited Wharton’s Maryellen Lamb who has been serving as both director of admissions and career services at Wharton. Emory’s Goizueta School of Business has a similar practice.

“We’ve always spent time reviewing and providing input,” says Masland. “But now I’ll be on the committee to provide clear perspective and support.”
