Alan has been advising future MBAs for seven years. His clients have attended Wharton, INSEAD, GW School of Business, CMU Tepper, and Yale SOM, among others. Alan helps clients uncover their talent and experience ā which they always seem to underestimate. He is committed to pushing for hard-to-remember story details that create exceptional applications. And, to clients designing a life trajectory, they find personally fulfilling.
Alan began his career as a consultant in public finance. There, he helped issue over $2 billion dollars in debt, redesigned a portfolio of eight financial models, launched two products, and taught two new hire training classes.
Following his MBA, Alan launched three companies, one of which achieved success. He created nine digital education products serving over 60,000 clients. His roles included leading product development, overseeing $5 million in marketing campaigns, and managing teams across five continents. Additionally, Alan serves as a consultant to education entrepreneurs and has forayed into small business acquisitions.
As a coach, Alan has advised over a thousand professionals on career transitions and personal marketing. What he enjoys most is creating clarity on what clients want and building message around it. Alan studied the heroās journey story approach (seen in films such as Star Wars, Toy Story, and Princess Bride) and trained in professional coaching. He has featured in Forbes, US News and World Report, Inc, and Fast Company, among others.
Note: Alan included all these details not to toot his own horn – because you donāt care that much – but to show the power of specifics. You have incredible experiences too. We just have to flush them out.

I worked with Alan directly for months discussing my story and vision for the future. Alan helped frame ways for me to brainstorm where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do, and he then was my main point of contact for shaping how I tell my story. We iterated on my essays countless times, and I’m incredibly proud of how well the overall story and application turned out, particularly because of Alan. He’s a great coach who will listen when he needs to and provide input where necessary, and I can’t recommend his services enough.
In a process that makes you at times feel very stressed, Alan was a constant source of calm and rational perspective. He consistently helped me understand the level of depth and detail I needed to get to to truly demonstrate my accomplishments and made certain that we were not leaving anything on the table. With Alan’s help I was able to get into HBS, a school I never really thought I had a chance at. Alan makes sure to make you feel like his most important client and always gives an honest opinion. Could not recommend more, especially if you are a person who underplays their accomplishments!
MBA applications are demanding and can be downright intimidating, but Alan’s reassuring attitude and strategic advice made the process feel more like a journey of self-discovery with, surprisingly, moments of fun. His encouragement to embrace my interests helped me write a compelling narrative that really represented me. The highly personalized advice he gave not only highlighted my strengths but also gave me a much-needed sense of confidence. Amid looming deadlines and distractions from my job, Alan’s commitment to detail and readiness to answer my numerous questions made all the difference. In summary, working with Alan was invaluable; he simplified the complexities of MBA admissions and helped me secure acceptance into my top-choice program. Thanks for everything, Alan!
Alan was my confidant, navigator and mentor throughout my business school application process. I was accepted to HBS, GSB, Wharton, Kellogg and Yale SOM all because of his incredible guidance and leadership.
When I first met with Alan, my story felt very scientific and less business-ey. I am a behavioral scientist applying to business school, not a masters or PhD program. But with Alan’s help, we crafted a unique narrative that emerged as a business leadership superpower story and hit on all the points I wanted to weave into my application!
Alan also helped me overcome my fear that my GRE scores were too low, bordering on the lower side of the GRE spectrum for my target schools. He provided lots of encouragement, and shared much research to back my candidacy – and clearly he was right.
From feeling overwhelmed and anxious by the process to carving out time to write a series of essays, Alan was supportive, insightful, driven and flexible. He would offer tidbits of advice, help revamp an essay structure, and meet with me at peculiar times to accommodate my full time work schedule. Alan helped me narrow down my list of schools to five target diverse schools and clearly outlined how to engage with my references to develop a holistic and compelling application.
I’m excited to be part of the GSB class of 2026! Stanford here I come!
