Managed to be transferred to the Spain office, which is one of the lead offices in the M&A middle market for my firm. I accomplish this by being the best consultant in the Colombian practice. 3 promotions in 5 years in a very competitive environment.
My Short term goal is to work for an MBB firm. Especially in the area of private equity and private investors. My Long term goal is to move into industry and become part of the C-suite.

Hi, it’s Nisha from mbaMission. Congratulations on your progressive career in consulting, and having the type of success that earned you a transfer to the Spain office! I think that the success that you’ve had at your firm, the fact that you’re from a country that’s not heavily represented in U.S. MBA programs, your solid academics, and your involvement in outside activities (fitness instructor – very cool!) do put you in contention for Booth.

A few things I’d do to maximize your success: 1. Think through your goals a bit more so that the AdCom can understand your motivations clearly – why does consulting in the area of PE appeal to you based on past experiences? What type of leadership role within the industry do you see for yourself in the long-term, and what type of impact do you want to make? 2. Apply to a range of top programs in the U.S. (top 15) and abroad, to increase your odds of acceptance, and research each one thoroughly so that you can make a strong case for why it’s a good fit for you 3. Given that Booth is big on test scores, if you think you can bump up the GMAT, it’s worth a try. Hope this helps a bit – best of luck to you!
