Hi Mr. Experienced PM, Impressive credentials! This is Debbie Choy from mbaMission. I think your tech experience will help you stand out from the crowd. That said, you may even be “over-qualified” for the 2 year FT MBA programs. I agree with Jennifer that with your tenure and experience, your profile would be more suited for the middle management MBA programs like Sloan Fellows, Stanford MSx. Part-time MBA programs would also find your profile very attractive. In turn, you will be attending school with classmates with similar tenure and work experience – this would ensure you’re networking at the right level. As you put together your apps, apart from explaining why MBA and what your career goals are, be sure to also weave in your personal …

As you put together your apps, apart from explaining why MBA and what your career goals are, be sure to also weave in your personal and professional stories that have shaped your leadership style. Coming from Armenia, you have a unique background – how has your upbringing influenced you? If you can articulate this compellingly in your essays, that would help AdCom better understand your motivations and candidacy. Hi Mr. Experienced PM, Jennifer here from Stratus Admissions. You have some very impressive experience in project management in the tech sector. I’m assuming that you’re from Armenia given your undergrad, which certainly is an un-represented country for US MBA programs. I think the biggest obstacle for you will be your age/experience level, if you’re going for 2-year FT programs. If you’re open to part-time or EMBA programs, I think you’ll have much better than a 5% shot. Sloan Fellows could be a good option although it’s also super competitive. I would encourage you to explore PT and EMBA programs because these are more typically composed of people with around 10 years of experience or more. You will need to be very explicit about why …

You will need to be very explicit about why now is the best time for an MBA. What skills are you missing to reach your goals that only an MBA can provide? Also talk about the WHY behind your goals. Why biotech? Giving adcoms a good picture of the how and the why behind your experiences and goals is an important part of telling your story. I wish you the best of luck!
