Went from an Associate at a Big 4 to a Senior Associate in the firm’s strategy consulting team (Monitor/Parthenon/Strategy&/KPGM Strat) and then to Engagement Manager. I’d be the first one in my family to get a master’s or MBA.

Pre-uni, I placed top 10 nationally at a few competitive programming contests Highest dissertation mark out of a cohort of 200+ students. Broke into my firm’s strategy consulting team (which happens on the basis of exceptional performance). Successfully led several strategy engagements over the last 1-2 years, focusing on Health & Life Sciences.

Hi, Mr. Life Sciences, this is Julie-Anne Heafey from mbaMission. I like your odds for Wharton overall–you bring strong academics (above average GMAT, solid GPA), a positive professional story with an upward trajectory into a more competitive group and work history across several geographies, and finally, a bit of geographic diversity with both Western and Eastern Europe perspectives. In terms of possible weaknesses, you don’t seem to have organized community leadership…which is understandable if you have long hours or a lot of travel, but perhaps you have taken on some internal roles in recruiting or training? I’d make sure that shows up somewhere if you have it. You can also talk about your family role but bring details so it feels …

I think for me my top tip for you would be to crystallize your goals (perhaps not either/or for both LT and ST – it makes you look very undecided) and really explain why Wharton is perfect for a path that includes a return to Europe (they may wonder). INSEAD almost feels like a better fit for you–but perhaps you want the 2 year length of program? Make your reasoning and fit with Wharton super clear…they look for that, and it’s a very competitive year! Best of luck!
