While Darden makes the GMAT optional which is to your advantage, your GPA at FSU is low as is your length of work experience. Two or three more years of experience and a higher GMAT which could then be submitted would increase your chances a good bit.

Looking at your accomplishments through this lens really showcases your perseverance and drive, qualities that all MBA programs value. You mention serving as the function lead on a big implementation project, so it sounds like you’ll have some good leadership examples to share. Be sure to highlight the specific actions you took in this role and what the impact of your work was. Additionally, I really like the multiple extracurricular activities you participated in at FSU and your continued commitment to volunteerism by teaching English to immigrants. These are some really nice differentiators! Your GPA and GMAT score are in the ballpark for McCombs but are a little below the average at Yale and Darden. You’ll definitely want to explain the circumstances behind your GPA, and if you think you could improve your GMAT score or do better on the GRE that would help strengthen your candidacy. I think your odds are pretty solid for McCombs, and a well-written application could increase your chances at your other targets.
