You have a compelling story to tell, given your experience at a Fortune 10 and as a founder of a startup. It sounds as if your startup is something of a side hustle as you work full-time, though I could be wrong about that. One big question is how successful is your startup and whether it has generated outside capital. If so, it will count a lot more in your favor. If not, that part of your resume isn’t going to help you very much. Your extras are strong and a real asset because they demonstrate that you have ambitions beyond yourself. As you know already, your GRE score and your GPA are both under the median class averages at Harvard. So in essence you would be asking HBS to overlook those factors and accept you based on your work experience, accomplishments and personal story. I will tell you what is generally true: Adcoms will often blink once but not twice because there is severe competition to get into an HBS, Stanford or Yale. You are asking for two blinks with both your GRE and GPA under the median. That’s why, sad to say, I think your chances at HBS are less than ideal.
