The D’Amore-McKim School of Business MBA: What You Need To Know

The D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University prepares students to lead in a digitally driven economy, recognizing that leading in today’s complex business world requires an entrepreneurial mindset, resilience in the face of change, and an ability to harness data and technology to make smart decisions.

“I love that we can be so agile and responsive to what’s going on in the market,” says Associate Dean of Graduate Programs Kate Klepper. “Our faculty and staff work to meet the needs of both our students and employers as needs arise, and we adapt in new and interesting ways. It shows our students that agility, taking risks, and knowing your market can be both exciting and rewarding.”

Founded in 1951, D’Amore-McKim’s full-time MBA program is a 55-credit program that can be completed in 24 months of full-time study with cohorts of 60-70 students. Because we live in a world where technology has become a pillar of global business, D’Amore-McKim introduced a new business education model that’s designed to prepare students for the expansion of global technology and the development of unforeseen possibilities, while also maintaining a core of comprehensive business and leadership skills.

The first term starts with MBA foundation courses and career management classes. Students have the opportunity to earn both a business concentration at D’Amore-McKim and an interdisciplinary MBA concentration in partnership with another Northeastern University college, if they so choose. Some concentrations from D’Amore-McKim include Analytics, Business Management for Healthcare, Corporate Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Sustainability and Business. Concentrations from partner schools include artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Visualization, Experience Design, Information Ethics, and Software Development.

Throughout the summer, D’Amore-McKim offers 3-credit international field study program teaching students to thrive in international business relations. With today’s competitive global market, the opportunity to immerse oneself in international issues is invaluable.

In their second year, students enter a three- or six-month paid corporate residency as well as the option for two six-month residencies; a signature experience of the program. This corporate residency program gives students a strong foundation in business knowledge while encouraging the development and acquisition of practical experience.

Overall, this MBA is a well-rounded program with an assortment of elite opportunities for full-time students. If prospective students are looking for a school that values experiential and collaborative learning, D’Amore-McKim would be a great choice for them.
