Named one of the top 10 business schools with the most women by U.S. News & World Report in 2017, Suffolk continues to be an emerging leader in diversity. “One of the great things about Suffolk is that we are extraordinarily diverse,” says Academic Program Director Jodi Detjen. “In the last travel seminar that I led to Silicon Valley, we had ten different countries represented by the students. Thirty percent of our MBA’s are global, and 50% are women. In this program, both your fellow students and the clients you work with will reflect the wide diversity of today’s business landscape.” Over the course of 11 months for full-time and 16 months for part-time students, cohorts averaging 81 students earn their degree through courses designed to develop their intellectual agility, analytical thinking and leadership skills. They can customize their degree to meet their professional goals through Healthcare and Nonprofit Industry specializations, and more than a dozen concentrations in areas such as Market Research, Supply Chain Management, and Business Intelligence. The 36-credit program is adaptable even to those with no undergraduate business education, making the powerful credential of MBA available to students pursuing a wide range of careers. Among the materials to apply are a letter of recommendation, a report of work history with at least one year of professional experience, and a two-minute video essay response to a prompt. GMAT or GRE scores are not required. Whether on-site attending internships near the downtown campus, consulting real clients on projects, or on weeklong local and international travel seminars, students are exposed to real-world experiences that deepen their understanding of practical business. Outside of required experience, students often apply to startup consulting clinics, participate in local/national case competitions, and attend local service days. With an emphasis on practical experience, Suffolk’s mission is to equip graduates with the knowledge and skill sets with the vision of creating capable leaders prepared to enter dynamic workplaces and solve real problems.
