2024 MBA Class Profiles & Employment Reports

The 10,000-foot view. The big picture. The broad strokes.

The view from the trenches. The deep dive. The nitty gritty.

Call it the forest vs. the trees debate. The outline vs. the details. Zooming out vs. zooming in. To succeed, MBA candidates need to study both. At the macro level, there are the statistics – the whole – the larger profiles that reveal the percentages of students and graduates who hit a GMAT range or land in a particular industry. At the micro level, there are the individual student stories – what they’ve achieved and where they hope to ultimately go.

A mix of student data and stories – a means to compare and tales to inspire – that’s the balance struck by Poets&Quants.

Want to know who gets accepted into your target schools? This year, P&Q published 16 articles on the top business schools, covering GMAT scores, demographics, undergraduate majors, and professional backgrounds. Wondering how much top graduates earned and where they found work?  P&Q analyzed 27 employment reports stretching from Columbia Business School to INSEAD to the Wharton School. Through this data, MBA candidates can understand who their potential classmates will be – and the type of outcomes they can expect.

Beyond the larger scheme, you have individual stories – the crowning achievements and hard lessons that define lives and careers. This year, P&Q again conducted its Best & Brightest series, profiling over 450 top business graduates at the MBA, Executive MBA, Online MBA, and Undergraduate Business Major levels. On top of that, P&Q ran 48 Meet the Class stories – covering nearly 500 incoming full-time MBAs. That doesn’t count special features such as Disruptive Startups, which examined high potential ventures launched by MBA students, or 40 Under 40 Professors, where student and faculty voters honored the top young teaching talent. Such profiles don’t just tip readers off to who attends their target schools, but also provide insights on the unique benefits, resources, and cultures of these institutions.

General or intimate – wide or deep – these stories offer an inside look at the MBA experience. Here is this year’s analysis of business school inputs and outputs – along with the stories of the students behind the stats.
